After spending 2 hours at my house I still was not sure if I wanted to go with this building or not. I was having a hard time wondering if I went with this type of, do it yourself building, if I would save any money in the end. When Mr. Hubbs went from 19,000 to 8,900 I thought I couldn't go wrong with this building since it was such a great price. He kept telling me I was able to get such a good price because of my location and how he really wanted to promote his business in the area.
I explained to Mr. Hubbs that I would like to talk to the man that would be doing the work for me and see how much money I would have in labor etc. He told me that was not a big deal and that he just needed 20% down to hold the building and if I changed my mind that I would get all my money back, he even wrote this on my contract. I did not agree to give him 20% down so he told me that he just needed some amount of money in order to hold the building for me because someone else was wanting the building on Monday. I gave him 500 dollars using my debit card.
Two hours later after Mr. Hubbs and the two other people he brought to my house left, my contractor stopped by so I could show him my plans. After talking with him I seen that the amount of money was not going to be much different and that I would rather go with a different type of building. I called Mr. Hubbs right then so that he would not hold this building for me and so that I could get my 500 dollars back, after all that was our deal. Mr. Hubbs did not answer his cell phone and has not answered his cell phone when I keep trying to call him. Mr. Hubbs does not reply to my text messages, the letters that I have mailed or faxed him.
I went to my bank to see if Mr. Hubbs from cavalier buildings had taken the 500 dollars from my account, and guess what!!!! Yes, he has found time to withdraw the money from my account but cannot return phone calls, text messages or letters.
I am thankful that I did not go with this product because if Mr. Hubbs will not stand behind his word when it comes to 500 dollars what would he do if something had went wrong with my building that I had several thousands of dollars in. Please do yourself a favor and take my advice by staying away from Mr. Hubbs and cavalier buildings.

Ex-Employee, Cavalier Buildings forces customers into their contracts!!!! Buyers needs to beware!!!

POSTED: Thursday, April 11, 2013Then, return to the customer, whom we have put on hold, and tell the customer that the person that they need to talk to is either assisting another custom or in a meeting. Meanwhile, Cavalier Buildings waits until the three day grace period has elapsed, returns the customers call, and if the customers wanted to cancel, they are unable to because they had signed the contract, which in turn, forcing the customer into a contract.
I remember, speaking with a customer and she stated that the day after the contract was signed, she called to cancel, she said she repeatedly called and could never get through to anyone. Then, shes stuck with a building that she cant afford because Cavalier Buildings deliberately avoided her phone calls. She did state that she was going to get a lawyer, and honestly she should.
I highly recommend that anyone looking to conduct any business with this company....should be positive that it is something he/she can commit to, because once the contract is signed, it is a done deal!!! Cavalier Buildings will not allow you to cancel!!!
I am glad I am no longer with this company, considering how the customers are treated!!! I have over 8 yrs. of customer service skills and I have never seen how Cavalier Buildings customers are forced into a contract.

POSTED: Sunday, February 03, 2013I would encourage everyone that has entered into an agreement with Cavalier or any other company that comes to your house to sell you something to read the rights you have under the Federal Trade Commission information on the Rule Concerning Cooling-Off Period for Sales Made at Homes or at Certain Other Locations; 16 CFR Part 429. You can Google 16 CFR Part 429 or you can view the information in an easy to read format at:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0176-protections-home-purchases-cooling-rule
Many states have supporting State Law so you might do some research on your state's particular laws. In particular you should search for "right to cancel," "consumer protection," or "home sales."
In my experience, I was never notified by the company that I have a right to cancel, which is a violation of Federal and State law (here in VA). These laws provide the "Buyer" some very important rights in these circumstances and I really wish I had known about this before I met with them.
It is also very important to remember that if you've been wronged by this company or any other that is listed with the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint with them. If you discover that your rights under the consumer protection laws have been violated I highly encourage you to file a complaint with the State Attorney General in the state where the company does business and the Federal Trade Commission.
I hope this helps anyone that has been victimized by Cavalier or any other Scammer.
