Cbeyond is a company that was not able to meet their described standard of what their company could offer a Small Business Company, such as my media business, Texavision. My business was not able to benefit from, what I later realized was their false and misleading sales package that offered my company the use of their services upon signing a 3-year service contract. Also the lack of quality with Cbeyond Customer Service. This contract included; Internet service, Domain Name Hosting (up to 15 different names), Web Hosting, Fax to Email, up to 3 toll free numbers, 6 landlines and one fax line. Let me not forget to include the two(2) tablets and two (2) mobile devices added to the service plan. The "wow factor". This package in my opinion is way to put together, seriously... my first reaction should have been "too good to be true". the "Get out of here, your pulling my leg" kinda thought.
As the events unfold after signing the contract.. installation of the equipment for internet service, landlines and... awaiting for the mobile devices. The tablets came in 2 weeks late, no mobile devices. the landlines were not run thru the other offices in my office suite. Cbeyond could only bring in the phone box with "only the dial tone". They said I would have to call another phone company and ask them to service the us with the actual connection. Which I would also have to hire the other phone company to actually run the phone lines through. Really, why would i have to call another "phone company", isn't Cbeyond a communications company already!!! The internet worked. After an entire month of having only internet service with them. And our phone system was not up yet, I was not able to conduct any business. Not phone connection, no phonelines running, no business cards with the new phone numbers. Including the fact, Cbeyond told me I could change the original numbers given to my account into vanity numbers that I selected for my company... it never happened. Cbeyond might provide tools to allow you to change your service plan at any time of the day, any day of the week, without ever having to pick up the phone. so therefore implying that they lack the "customer service." So, what happens if you billing statement you view online is wrong and no one at the 800 #, in customer care department is really willing to help you resolve the situation. Seriously, I continued service with this company for long enough to know what type of service I would be receiving and struggling to obtain from them in the future. When I received my first month bill from Cbeyond, much of the services that I needed from this company was still in the process of getting set up. Cbeyond also offered a referral rebate when you refer a new customer to them, which I did and did not receive credit upon the referred company phone service activation. while waiting for the Credit to be applied to my account only shortly after the 1st month... still no credit applied after the seeing the 2nd month billing statement. Here, when I had seen such a large amount due. Cbeyond did not apply the credits due to me or my account after the second month. seriously now... they were pulling my leg.
At this time almost 3 months later. no work was done on Cbeyond part of the contract except for the installation of the equipment and only the internet was working. No vanity numbers, no connected landlines and no business cards with the new phone numbers.... Cbeyond really had me going. And running around in circles with them... it was almost like "hear-say" kinda service from this company. Such as the Sales person would say they offer (Vanity numbers) this service, then when it comes down to it, with the Customer Care department, no such service is offered, and we would have to get a vanity # from another phone company and port it over. OMG... really this company only does half a*s on their service and product offers. do not buy into the verbal beauty of what Cbeyond has to offer, you will only be mislead and deceived of services that can not be full filled.
