Watch out for credit card fraud! I had just signed up with a company on line, buying stock for a business I am opening.

As I was checking out to pay for my order, I noticed a box down the bottom of the page that stated you could find out your postal costs if you were overseas. As I fell into this category, I checked the box, and put in Australia, then I clicked the continue box.

This took me to a page that said this was a fast payment for international mail via google. I tried going back to the previous page, but couldn't, so figured this was they way to go for international postage/payment.

After submitting all my details, including my CC number, a message appeared saying my country was not on their available list. I couldn't cancel, delete or get out of the page.

I pressed the help key. This told me to click on a certain icon, that I had 15 mins to do so or the transaction would go through. Back on the page, I couldn't find the icon to click on. In the end, I simply exited out of the internet as I didn't know what else to do.

The next day someone tried to use my CC to buy a flight to germany, but this wasn't approved. A week later 2 transactions were done by Cebu Air MiGssma1.5. Both of these were approved for the value of $1000.00au.

After these transactions, I tried to do another order on the same site, this time ignoring the international payment - I had no problems. My third order wasn't accepted as my CC number didn't match my other recorded details.

This made me look closely at my bank statements where I discovered the fraud and reported it.

BE WARNED - Check your statements for CEBU AIR MiGSSMA1.5 and report immediately to the correct authorities.

Same same be careful of Cebu air charges on CC

AUTHOR: Mrbmax - (Australia)

POSTED: Sunday, May 03, 2009

I too have had three transactions by Cebu air over the weekend within quick succession, along with two for Oxfam.org.uk. All detected by my bank as fraudulent, card put on hold and they attempted further transactions after card was put on hold. Card is now cancelled.

Apparently, they process the Oxfam.org.uk to check the card and then charge as much as possible whilst they can.

Now the long wait to get back the missing funds :-(.

Cebu Airlines

AUTHOR: Safeermo - (Qatar)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 29, 2009

I am with you on this. For me, it was not just the 3 Cebu Airline ticket transactions, there were two other smaller amounts - one of which was with a T-Street Jewelry (most probably an offline purchase) and the other was an online transaction on a charity website called http://www.oxfam.org.uk
The Cebu airline transactions happened in three instants, but almost in a minute's gap, they tried to buy 3 domestic airline tickets. But the statement message appeared as HSBCMNL1 CEBUR AIR, PHP. It was not exactly the wordings you have given but I am sure this could be the same scam.
The transactions were happening so quickly that I was not sure what was going on. But a big thanks to my bank's SMS alert system which sends alerts each time even a single transaction occurs, right at that instant. If not, there was no way I could have known what has happening to my card and would have had to wait another 2 days for the online statements to update. The money would have just kept on dissapearing if I had not called up the call centre and had the card blocked immediately.
Luckily the bank will be refunding the money that has been transacted. I thank again the bank's SMS alert systems - funny how somethings, that we least bother with, can be of a great help at times.
