The target markets for Census.us are individuals looking to find information on a variety of surveys, demographics, interest of people, habits or trends. Additionally, they can provide information on statistics on a study of any of these topics. The company states that they are continually updating their database with LexisNexis and other providers to benefit their customers.
Census.us provides customers the opportunity to choose what type of information and how much information they would like to purchase from a menu that will include pricing and different packages available. The website does not have a live person for a customer to talk to during the sales process and all sales are conducted online. They have email and live chat options available to customers as they are using the site.
A typical experience that a customer may receive when accessing the website is the opportunity to receive quick access to reports and data within minutes. The company feels they are set apart from other companies that provide similar services because they are able to offer lower costs to customers than comparable information available.
Every company has problems from time to time that are beyond their control. What separates good companies from bad ones is how they deal with those problems. After talking with the representatives of Census.us.org while they documented what happened to them last year, we are very impressed by what they've done to overcome their technological challenges.
census.us.org were approached by a vendor who offered them a software package that they assured them would be able to handle the new load. Unfortunately, it wasn't and shortly after it went online it became overloaded. This caused the system to incorrectly bill some customers. In addition, it crashed the online customer service system, which led many customers to think that they were being ignored by the company.
When customers started calling the customer service number, CSRs were unaware of the problem - as was the company itself - and were not prepared to respond to customers' questions and concerns.

” It took us a while to realize what was happening," Census.us.org's customer service manager, Josh, told me. "The way the software was set up, we didn't realize there was a glitch until the number of complaints started piling up."
We went to the software provider who assured us they had fixed the glitches. But they had not.
"Just when we thought things were back to normal, the billing and customer service problems came right back up again,"
"It was a nightmare."
At that point, the company replaced the entire software system with a new one from a more reliable vendor. Then, they moved to quickly provide refunds to all customers who were affected by the problem. In fact, they are still providing refunds to customers who contact them directly.
"There's no way for us to identify just how badly the software screwed up," Josh said. "But we are responding to refund requests as soon as they come in."
"We started an entirely new training program just to teach our customer service representatives how to deal with this issue," Josh told me. "We are committed to solving this problem fairly for everyone involved."

As a matter of policy, when a business becomes a member of the Corporate Advocacy Program they agree to allow Ripoff Report to contact every client who filed a complaint so they can make things right with them. In order to confirm that the complaints were resolved, Ripoff Report is copied on all responses so we can insure that the member business did right by their customer .. The people at census.us.org did that without question.

Census.us.org My Fee Plan; Car Info One; Mobile Media; Mobile Web Media; Census Records; Archive Fee; This is a scam--don't fall for it InternetThe quote below is taken directly from the website www.census.us.org which clearly says, "each report is $1.00"--but it's not--you will be billed, unknown to you, for the $1.00 as well as $19.95. There is no fine print--it's just a lie! When you try to get a refund, they jerk you around and lie some more. The email listed bounces back. The whole thing is a fraud--there are no census records any way! This "company" operates out of virtual office space in Utah called Alliance Virtual Offices. This co-called business doesn't even exist. It also goes by the following names: "My Fee Plan", "Car Info One", "Mobile Media", "Mobile Web Media", "Archive Fee" as well as "Census Records". Don't be fooled! You will be falsely billed, and will have grief trying to get your money back! Plus they mine your data and the opt-out email is false! Plus my computer had a dangerous virus after using the site. Whoever is operating this "business" is just ripping you off from the privacy of their home. There is no business!
