These companies also make charges to your credit card and some of these charges are non-refundable (or so the agents at their toll free numbers say). And the charges don't stop. Every day or so, a new company placing unsolicited charges to my credit card shows up. The only unifying factor to all of these is their Nevada location (one in Texas). I have had to check my credit card daily to keep abreast of these fraudulent charges. In my opinion, all of these companies are scam artists - what legit company signs you up for a non-refundable membership under the guise of a credit card application?
I urge everyone who has been scammed to contact the ATTORNEY GENERAL OF NEVADA -Consumer Fraud Division (http://ag.state.nv.us/org/bcp/bcp.htm) and to the (www.ic3.gov), which is the Federal Internet Crime Complaint Center that handles these kind of consumer abuse situations.
