I began Working for CeneterPlate in early March of 2011.

I started to notice problems with my pay checks about 2 weeks after my first day at work. It took them 2 weeks to get my my check for orientaion, but it took them an additional week to get me my check for my first day of work. This means even though the pay schedule is set up for every 2 weeks they still took 3 weeks after my work day to send me a check for my first day.

They only worked me 2 or 3 days out of the month, and I was paid $8 an hr. So each check was very wimpy.Despite selling products at concession stand mark ups for FC Dallas, they were still very slow to pay.

Upon recieving my second check I was sent an email from Kristi Kunsick, (Office Payroll Manager). It the check you have recieved is invalid. Please return the check to redeem the valid one.

I had to wait untill my next work day to go in the office, because that was the only day they were open. Suprise Suprise, Kristi had called in Sick. luckily i got my check anyway.

I worked 2 days in April. Once April 8th and the other on April 30 (Edgefest 21). I have yet to recieve a paycheck for the entire month. I brought this issue up to several managers, but they derected me to Kristy Kunsick. She was almost never at the office. She was always taking sick days or out of the office for some odd reason. Like the rest of the Centerplate Empoyees she never answers the phone, or responds to emails, phone messages.

When I informed the other managers about this they directed me to the Corporate office. Acording to one manager named Craige it was in Georgia. Scott Purvis However stated it was in South Carolina. Neigther of these managers gave me any contact information for thew corporate headcorters.

A web search didn't pull up any details eighther. However I did confirm through the office at the Dallas Convention Center that the location of the corporate office was in South Carolina. However i was also informed the number for corporate was a toll number. Calling South Carolina from Texas would surely cost at least $300 for checks that were barely more than $100 combined. 

The final offense occured on April 30. They forced all employees to arive at 8:30AM and clock in by 9:00AM. They made us Park a block away despite ample parking spots. The managers had promised us a schuttle to take us back and forth. However they didn't send the schuttle out untill almost 11:00. That means they forced us too walk back and forth about a block to get to our car. I left my serving badge in my car, so instead of making a new one, they forced me to make several trips by foot to get it.

My shift began at 9:00AM but didn't oficialy end untill 11:00PM (14 hours). Despite this they only gave us one short break. It was barely even 15 minutes long. I was severley dehydrated and malnurished.

Half way through the day I became dizzy and began to notice an unpleasant sensation in my nether regions. That night i discovered i had contracted hemroids and exaustion from dehydration.

I was fired the next day for sitting down near the end of my 14 hour shift. As if all this wasn't bad enough, they made me drive to work before telling me I was fired.

To Whom It May Concern:


      I am writing this letter because on Monday, May 28th, 2012, I went to the Fed Ex (Redskins Stadium) location of Centerplate Staffing and I was yelled at and treated inhumane by the employees who work directly for the company.  In other worlds, I was treated unfair and discriminated against in some manner.  Therefore, I am disgusted and highly unset for the way I was treated and I will be seeking legal council on this matter.

An employee by the name of Liz and another who I cannot name because I didnt get his information talked to me as if I was a irate and  with no education or sense.  I was misguided because I thought I was with Jet services but I wasnt.  I went in to talk to her and after realizing I wasnt...  I asked another employee some questions about the process as any intelligent and educated human being would do.   Liz yelled at me and said, LOOK AT ME LEROY!!!, LOOK AT ME!!!  When I glanced over, she accused me of lying to her about being from the wrong company.  When I was asking another employee who was not working directly with her about the application process to work at the field, she was beginning to explain to me the process and informing me that there was a computer technical issue etc....   before she finished her sentence... LIZ yelled at me and said, GET OUT.!  GET OUT!  I AM CALLING SECURITY. GET OUT!.  I politely explained to her that I dont appreciate you yelling at me.  Im not your child.  I am an adult who is 30 years of age.  She immediately began to pick up the phone and call security.  The gentleman she works yelled, GET OUT!!!  GET OUT!!! You have made a mistake!!!  I kindly walked out of the office and was proceeding to the back of the line and she followed me and told me to....GET OUT (as in get out of the building).  I asked her could I speak to her supervisor and she yelled, You can speak to my regional supervisor.  She went into the office and got another gentleman, he came out and yelled at me saying, GET OUT - You have made a mistake.  Therefore, I am making this matter known to you and others involved so the highest action possible can be taken.

Clearly, I was treated in a manner which was not appropriate and impolite by the staff of Centerplate and I would like an apologize and the chance to work the games - (I am a licensed bartender).  I am also a school teacher during my day job.  I have a masters degree and I am graduate of Howard University.  I am capable and willing managing staff and I have about 1 year of management experience.  Therefore, I am a good citizen of the community who seeks to provide excellent customer service and be decent member of society.
