The account executive marks it up to make their profit, again, innocent enough. Then you begin talking to these merchants who say, I get rates at 1.49% with no transaction fee.
Well, that's when I began to question things. If the industry breakeven rate is 1.65%, how could a merchant possibly get it lower? My sales director explained it away to me as the merchant simply reading the wrong lines.
I saw the statements myself, that my sales director pushed for me to fax in for his examination.
The residual income is not a 50/50 split as the supposed owner of the company had previously writted on here. There is a residual program which gives you an extra $20 bucks a months. When I was out of work due to sickness, my residuals stopped, as per company policy. So, I assume this means that if my monthly residual had ever reached a comfortable amount, and I decided to stop selling more accounts, my residuals would stop. That is not a very good residual program.
After I recovered from my illness, I emailed the sales director and received no reply. I'm not an angry ex employee, I've moved on to honest work. I am curious though, just WHO is the owner? I was first told it was Matt Hyman, and Christopher Toney. Next I was told it was San Huhn. I am not sure they even know.

I will admit that doing Payment Card Industry outside sales is challenging, because most of us wouldn't feel confortable giving out financial info, but I guess it has worked for some people. I feel that CPC should make the process a little easier...maybe make the application process electronic w/ some preloaded data. I will say this...if you're like me and get high off of making the sale, then an attempt at outside sales will make you even more confident. It's definitely not for the light-hearted and that's for sure.
Now I'm not saying CPC is the best company to work for in the industry (although their rates are better than a competitor I also attempted). But, I will say taht CPC provides training better than any company I've worked for. I plan to try and come back now that the weather is changing.

CPC is not a rip off...this site is out of control

On another note as a founding employee of this company I have seen this site broadcast any and all complaints without any due diligence of any kind. Any slander goes unchallenged unless someone like me takes the time out of my day to do this. To anyone wondering if Central Payment Corporation is an honest company just look up our BBB record and even the rebuttals on this site from actual account executives in the field. Never in this companies history have we ignored a customer complaint, not a single one, and yet if you came to this site the impression you would have of us is dodgy to say the least. CPC has uses good business practices and has lots of good, hard working people working for us.
Thanks,
Tom Mulkins

What a Rip off

I choose not to listen though, because credit card processing is not the way to go. This is one reason identity theft is so prevalent. These owners are giving out all this information supposedly. It did not seem that easy in my area, so I had to call this performance based waste of time off. Like stop calling my phone, don't you see the statements are not coming from my end. I got no money out of this career, so I will be avoiding the field of Sales for the moment.
I don't see how I could do outside sales again after that experience. Commission not rolling weeks down the line, and no bonus. VIP did nothing for me, and probably alot of others in my predicament. Stick with hourly jobs, or careers that earn positive cash flow with benefits. Forget about CPC.

As Zachary mentions I have no record of you ever being partnered with Central Payment Corporation. However you are correct in the fact that we occasionally do host a training conference in Las Vegas. I also do host training conference calls everyday. Our breakeven rates are a standard of 1.65% + 19 cents on Qualified transactions and 1.39% + 19 cents on Check Card transactions.
There may have been a merchant you came across that was paying 1.49% and no transaction fee. It is possible. It all depends on the merchant's average ticket. If the merchant's average ticket is $10 and I increase the transaction fee to 23 cents instead of 19 then the breakeven percentage drops dramatically. The extra 4 cents makes up for the lack of percentage.
However if the merchant's average ticket is $500 then I may be able to remove the transaction fee all together and the percentage rates stay the same. The percentage rate on a high average ticket makes up for the lack of the transaction fee and covers our cost on that particular transaction.
As a Sales Director it is my responsibility to assist my sales team with their sales. When working with a merchant we push for our agents to fax in the current processing statements so we can take a good look at things. Most merchants and agents alike feel we do this just to see what they are currently paying. That is not the case. Thats helps but there is more to it than that.
At Central Payment Corporation we not only want to lower rates and offer mechants savings, we want to also educate our merchants on processing and offer solutions. There is a vast variety of transaction types that occur by the way a merchant processes their credit cards. The merchant's statement shows me this. I can see if they are swiping their transactions, manually key entering them, or taking corporate cards.
When you visit your doctor it would be malpractice for him/her to write you a perscription without first examining you and determining what the problem is. That is how we work at Central Payment Corporation. We would like to examine the merchant's processing and find a proper solution for their processing needs.
Though I have no record of you ever being partnered with Central Payment Corporation David I am willing to work with you. Feel free to contact my office anytime.

Are you really David from Jacksonville Florida? According to my records, we have never done business with someone, anyone, with the first name of David out of Jacksonville Florida.
We do offer lifetime residuals, it is a seperate contract and comes after your 1st 10 new merchants. We see NO reason to pay someone $20 a month for the rest of their life because they isgned up their cousins business, understand?
In addition, your break even rates started at 1.39% not 1.65%, perhaps you need to better understand your own compensation package.
Lastly, this is an Independent Contract position, not employee/employer. Basically, you run/manage your own business and build it to what you want and CPC will stand by you along the way. We currently work with over 400 active sales people.
I would like to apologize for the lack of communication and would love the opportunity to discuss this matter further. You can call 1-800-449-8014 and ask for me directly.
