I submitted an order for a camera on-line and received a confirmation email. A couple of weeks went by and I noticed that no money had been withdrawn from my account for this purchase.
So, I called the company and encountered the worst customer service I have ever heard of in my life. When I asked what was going on with my order, a customer rep. just told me my order had been cancelled. When I asked why, he said he'd transfer me and without any further comment I was on hold.
The second rep. I spoke to after the transfer simply told me my order had been cancelled and cut me off and put me on hold again.
A third rep. picked up the call and treated it as if it wewre a new call. This third rep. proved just as rude and useless as the other two and transferred me again.
Finally, the fourth rep. answered the call and he was the worst of them all. He told me that my order had been cancelled. When I asked why, he told me their website clearly indicates that the customer is supposed to call and confirm every order (even though I received a confirmation email). I checked the website and there is no such clause anywhere. I'm an attorney and I read all the fine print and couldn't find any indication of that anywhere.
When I told this fourth rep. that I didn't remember the website saying that anywhere (I hadn't checked the site out in detail yet) he just told me that I wasn't even a client anymore so goodbye and have a nice day and he hung up on me. I was left speechless.
I called right back and asked for the manager of customer service and was connected right back to this fourth rep. again (his name was Chris). He claimed to be the manager of customer service. He told me that my order was cancelled that I wasn't even a customer any more, okay? And I said that no, it wasn't okay. That I'd never been treated worse in my life. Chris interrupted what I was saying to say yeah, yeah, yeah. I said, excuse me? And then he just said you're not even a customer anymore. Have a nice day. And he hung up on me again! I was livid.
I called the company back and asked to speak to this Chris's manager. I explained what happened to this new manager and he told me that those guys in customer service were assholes (which made me wonder why on earth they employ employees of that sort). He asked me if I'd like to file a complaint against Chris and I said yes. The manager told me that Chris already had two pink slips filed against him, that this would make the third and that he would be fired. I've never in my life tried to get anyone fired before, but this time I thought it deserved.
Whether Chris was actually fired or not, I don't know. That's what I was told at least.
The manager told me that my product was out of stock and on backorder. I asked why I wasn't informed of this instead of just not having my order filled. He didn't have a good answer for that. I asked him why the website still showed the camera for sale if it was out of stock. He said the customers that ordered the camera would be offered to have their orders put on backorder (a suspicious response--it seems like a scam and a scam indeed). Finally, he agreed to reinstitute my "cancelled" order, but it was put on backorder. Of course, I never heard back from the company again and my order was never filled.
This is obviously either an obvious scam or the worst run business ever. And I have seriously NEVER been treated so rudely in my life.
