Decided to buy the internet/directv package, was told the internet was guaranteed for 12 months at $24.95.  This is what the ads say on TV as well.

Turns out, it's only $24.95 once you get the directv, (ours got delayed on the install), so they charged me $55 for 3 months, then wouldn't honor the $24.95 price for the 12 months.  So basically, we got screwed out of  3 months of the discount, and will only get 9 months.  

And to add insult to injury, due to a mail problem, we didn't get the first two bills so we got charged an exorbitant $25 to reinstate the service.  They never tried to email or contact me in any way to let me know there was a problem.  I think that is totally unprofessional since they had both my email and phone number.

Besides all that, the customer service is just horrible.  Once you get through the computer choices, if you talk to someone, they don't know anything about your problem, so they'll transfer you to someone else that you have to explain everything to, then they transfer you to someone else, and you get to explain it all again.  And there's at least a 20 minute hold every transfer.   I guess it's fine if you have an hour to listen to their on-hold advertising.  

Really, if you have other options, take them.
