I went to an estate sale run by Kay Chambers on 04/03/2011. Within the estate I was sold a green horse sculpture that was represented as jade.  The horse had an original sale price of $700.00 but since it was Sunday they were discounting prices.  I originally purchased the horse for $300 since the horse had been repaired.  I left that day a happy customer. However,  when I finally took the item to check the value I was informed that I item had been miss represented and it was not indeed jade.  I then called Mrs. Chambers and informed her of my findings.  She first said that a refund would be given before she found out the value.

Once I described the item to her she said that she does not know why it would not be jade.  Kay also told me that sales are usually final at estate sales.  Kay then said that she would check into the matter and give me a call back.  As of this day I have not gotten a call back and it has been about over a week now.  I do understand that all sales are final  at estate sales but that should only apply to items that were not miss represented. Mrs. Chamberss website says that her company has been serving San Diego County for over 20 years.  This leaves me with the question of how many other San Diego residents has Mrs. Chambers Company has rip off during that time and how many unknowing people have been lied too.

Issue resolved. Good business owner!

AUTHOR: [email protected] - (United States of America)

The problem was resolved and handled in a fair manner once all of the information was received by Kay. Once Kay was given all of the information it allowed her to make an informative decision. Kay issued a refund and mailed the check out just like she said she would. In addition, I do understand that when one is a business owner it is sometimes difficult to
monitor the actions of all of employees that work for you at all times and that mistakes do happen. I no way blame Kay for this misunderstanding.

Well my friends you cannot sale something as one thing and it be another. This would be fraud and fraud is defined as deliberate deception, trickery, or cheating intended to gain an advantage and that was exactly what was done. Furthermore, the law provides consumers certain basic protections against fraudulent, deceptive, and misleading conduct by business that treat their customers unfairly . In addition, I have a receipt from the estate sale that says Jade horse.

Chambers estate service customer

AUTHOR: William way - (United States of America)

My gallery has purchased from Kay chambers for a decade. Chambers is honest and her reputation is flawless. I attended her recent sale two consecutive days. I carefully examined the cabinet containing the green stone objects each day. No posting of the word jade appeared as a label or in the form of a sign. No employee provided any information, other than the price, to any buyers. The buyer may suffer delusions of adequacy when expressing professional expertise of stone items. Perhaps a case of buyers remorse has overtaken her education of fine art. Kay chambers reputation among thousands of customers and dealers has been slandered for no good reason. By the way, chambers has over 3000 positive feedback on ebay and not one complaint, and that is proof positive that this buyer knows little about fine art objects. Instead of complaining to ripoff, she should be apologizing for lying and slandering kay chambers.

Ignorance of Buyers

AUTHOR: sdcsandiego - (United States of America)

Ignorance of Buyers is not the estate services responsibility, as a buyer you should know what you are buyer before forking out the cash. I am also sure you can read the signs posted though out the sale that state "all sales final" --- this is clearly stated again at the cashiers stand. So what don't you  understand about this?

I have know Mrs Chambers for 11 years and have done business with her for just as long, she is the most honest of any estate liquidator I know from New Hampshire to San Diego and a kind person to boot. So your accusations of her being in the wrong is false.By the way you can see how generous Mrs Chambers is discounting more than half the sale price.

You my friend are the one in the wrong here by your ignorance. May I state a solution? Live by your mistakes and enjoy your horse sculpture!
