Save yourself the trouble and don't book a vacation with this company. They are not reliable whatsoever. The company is too cheap to purchase actual allotments for the hotels so many times they made us charge customers cards without knowing if the room was actually available. There is no such thing as central reservations so many times even if a room was available it could suddenly become unavailable if the request for the hotel was not faxed and received by the hotel in adequate timing. Another nightmare is the airfare. A few nights ago I had two clients who found out two days before departing for Jamaica that Air Jamaica had cancelled their airfare on them! This was due to an error with Changes In L'attitudes NEVER issuing the clients tickets.
The vice president of the company, Nigel Osborne refused to pay me $35 owed to me for transportation on MY time. My supervisor had locked his car keys inside the building and needed a ride home. The vice president told me to take him home because he was too drunk to pick up the supervisor. He told me to clock the mileage and fill out an expense report. He was supposed to send a taxi for the supervisor the next day and he didn't. He never even called the supervisor. So the supervisor called me and asked me to pick him up. The vice president never paid me the money owed and I filed an expense report. After two weeks went by, I asked a woman in charge of accounting for my money because the vice president was in Mexico on a business trip. She handed me a white envelope with nothing inside but a $5 dollar bill. That was a huge insult to me. So one week later which is today, I was called into the vice president's office and fired on the spot. This company is too cheap to pay me $35 in expenses and their business is so slow that I was fired without warning and let go. He made sure to fire me before I reached my 90 day mark so I wouldn't be able to file for unemployment. Which is great for the company but terrible for me and my one and a half year old daughter!
The company also violates Florida law in refusing to pay overtime. They owe one of my ex-coworkers over $500 in overtime and when he asked Mr. Osborne for his money he told him he couldn't afford to pay him it. I advised my friend to let him know that is illegal and he will pursue action with the Labor Board if not given his money. My coworker did as I suggested and still has not received a dime in overttime. Apparently Nigel Osborne thinks he is untouchable.
And last, but certainly not least, Changes does not pay commissions to their hardworking travel agents. Most travel companies pay their employees a 3-5 % commission. Well changes only pays half a percentage on every thousand dollars sold. That does not add up to much at all when the phones hardly ring at all because there is not much business going on at this company anymore! Well I still have not received a dime in commissions and have heard from many other agents that the company has cheated them out of commissions. It is such a shame.
I feel terrible for the many clients that this company has ripped off. I feel the most remorse for the poor transfer companies on these islands who do not get any money for the services they provide. These people make a six figure salary that run Changes In L'attitude aka Dynamic Leisure Corporation. They are selfish people who care about nothing but money and will cut any corner to keep more for themselves.
Please be smart and research a company before you invest your money. Also research a company before you go work for them! That is something I ALWAYS do. However, I could not find any reports on this company prior to starting employment. Now that I know all I know, I am glad I am out and hope to start working somewhere that cares about their employees and their customers.
Look elsewhere! Book with Travelocity, American Express Travel, Expedia, whatever! Just do not do business with www.changes.com.
