Charter Communications signed me up telling me one price for phone and internet including taxes, now they have raised the monthly amount and I am on a fixed income. I was told the cost I was quoted was never a package for, Internet

On June 1, 2012 I had phone and internet service set up through Charter.  The previous week, a salesman from Charter told me I could get the service for $25 each and with tax it would be $53 a month for as long as I have the service and no contract.  I keep getting billed for more than $60 and when I talk to anyone on the phone, I'm told I couldn't have been signed up for those prices.  I said in other words Charter doesn't stand by their salespeople's packages.

Another salesperson told me I could get the phone at $19.99 and the internet at $25.  So I thought it over and called back.  Then I was told there was no package with those prices. I've been around and around with numerous salespeople on the phone.  I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told no.

I'm on fixed income and with everything going up, I cannot afford the increase in the package I was originally told would be $53 for everything.  I don't see how Charter can get away with signing people up with one price, and then once they are hooked as a customer, charge them more. I'm fed up with phone companies, cell phone companies and being conned by businesses who do not keep their word.
