I paid my credit card off by the due date on a card that had a 0% rate for a limited time. I always call and speak to a representative before I use one of these "special rate checks" just to make sure I'm not missing any fine print and just to clarify verbally with a human. I did this in regards to this case and was told that I would be charged the maximum amount for the transfer check which was $75.00 - no problem they just tack that on at the beginning and it becomes part of the total amount due. I was told that if I paid the credit card off by the due date of April 8th, 2007 it would not accrue interest. I was told that verbally by a Chase Bank representative.

So, I paid the credit card off - $7,775.00 on April 2nd, 2007. I just received my credit card statement and it says that I owe $39.92 for Finance Charges. I called and the bank representative told me that the interest started acrueing on March 13th, 2007 - I had been misinformed by the bank representative that I first spoke with that told me that the interest would accrue after my billing due date in April 2007.

In reading these complaints, all I can say is that it "just shouldn't be that way" as I have seen stated by the bank reps - "I'm not saying what the bank does is right, it's just the way it is" - Well NO - that's BULLS**T!!! Big corporations should not be allowed to STEAL freely from the public and to give misinformation or information that is so convoluted that you can't sipher through it. You know when you think about it $39.92 times tens of millions of people adds up to a lot of money.

I will not pay this last bill from Chase Bank and I hope that a law suit is filed against them. It is wrong to steal from people and it is wrong to misguide them. All these big corporations with their over-paid CEO's should be set to high standards of moral values instead of slinking around and out-right stealing from people.

I commend you whole heartidly(sp) about your complaint. Is is directing the right way. It IS the huge corporations fault for not training their workers to understand all the information regarding people's accounts. If they trained them correctly to understand the accounts and information, they wouldn't misinform the customers. Finally, someone not blaming the poor worker that had no idea when your expiration date really was.
