I have just received 3 overdraft charges for 3 transactions that were not posted on my account for pending or even seen until after business hours, after 11pm at night.

When I had left the bank after doing and transaction and getting my receipt and asking the teller to make sure my account would be fine and was assured it would be. I still did not believe it so I went home and checked my acount before I went to bed at 11pm, knowing just in case could run to the ATM if needed and deposit a couple bucks (I do not trust their on-line banking as things can pop up after a week that you are not expecting because it was minused out with the prior week billing), nothing was there. Get to work first thing this morning and boom 3 od charges, charged $102 for 3 transactions all equalling $7.20 for parking, one was only $0.80 and was charged $34.

So I call Customer Service, bad mistake got India, after trying to talk to her, she was rude/short/I got fed up and asked for a supervisor and she hung up on me. So now I have to go in the branch after work, take time out of my day, and try and get this fixed. This is not the first time they have done this.

I dont understand how they can get away with charging that much money to someone, and say they are customer orientated. I will be closing my account there and not doing any type of business with them.

There are better banks.

AUTHOR: Antonio - (United States of America)

Its odd I have seen countless comments that call people bank haters, or accuse people who complain of thinking banks are evil.

This is the same response I got from the supervisor at chase, i think banks are good, its just Chase bank takes fee's then they won't remove the fee's. They know all the pitfalls that cause somebody to get a fee, yet they haven't done much to place on the online banking page a simple disclaimer that mentions some transactions are not seen for 3-5 days.

People need to keep a book with them and write down their balance on the ATM cards to avoid fee's. If they just put that on their site they would save millions of dollars for the poorest of people, rich people get the least fee's.

I have only dealt with two major banks, Chase and Bank of America, and chase was very mean to me about removing fee's and accused me of being upset with the banks which isn't true. Bank of America removed my fee's on multiple occassions and is a lot nicer through the phone.

No Where in your report..

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

Did I see that said you use a Register to keep track of your account.  As had you been keeping a register the following statement...

I had left the bank after doing and transaction and getting my receipt and asking the teller to make sure my account would be fine and was assured it would be. I still did not believe it so I went home and checked my acount before I went to bed at 11pm, knowing just in case could run to the ATM if needed and deposit a couple bucks (I do not trust their on-line banking as things can pop up after a week that you are not expecting because it was minused out with the prior week billing), nothing was there

Could have been changed to this.  "I looked in my register and realized that I had made 3 transactions that haven't been submited to the bank yet"

By the way the Cut-Off for deposits at most banks is between 2-6PM.  So even if they had shown up, going at 11pm at night would have been too late anyways to "beat" money back to the bank.

Now, people will tell you how you did nothing wrong.  They will also tell you that the banks are evil and explain to you how you can opt-out of the Overdraft protection.   While I do suggest you do that as well.  It probably would not have helped you in this case because that only stops your Debit Card useage IF you are currently overdrawn.

Another suggestions along with opting-out of the Overdraft protection and keeping a register.  For these small purchases do not use your Debit Card but take out a set amount of money.  At least if you do happen to overdraw it would only be for the 1 withdraw and not the 3(or more) debit purchases.  Because there is no reason you should have needed to use a Debit Card for $0.80.

I will be closing my account there and not doing any type of business with them.

- Unless you change your ways don't expect the new bank to be any different.
