Here's what I've learned from my unfortunate experience with CPS (Child Protective Services):

I've learned that CPS is NOT for the welfare of the child, they are NOT your friends. If they show up at your door they are there to destroy your family no matter the circumstances of what happened. Don't EVER say anything to a CPS agent on the phone, or in person they collect evidence to prove you are a bad parent. You could be the greatest parent in the world, but the fact is that they will record what you said and TWIST IT to use against you and make you look like the worst parent.

They will damage your image forever, but more broken families equaled higher paychecks for them. (said by ex-CPS worker for 9 years). I share this so that you be very careful with this agency, we put all our trust in them, we tell them the facts as they happened and they changed the sequence of events, and changed our words, this can happen to anyone.

I've learned that there are many parents and families distressed by false accusations, who may have had their children and relatives detained in foster care, who have had their lives turned upside down and their finances depleted by injustice in the name of child "welfare" and juvenile court systems. Be wise in your decisions, do NOT trust this agency they only see your children as a dollar sign.
