Jackson CPS = TN CPS = All the Same!
AUTHOR: Vexed Father - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, March 14, 2012
POSTED: Wednesday, March 14, 2012From the individuals that I have spoke to, many of the mothers explain to CPS that the "father just wants to get out of paying child support". That is simply not the case in the ones that I know of. The fathers are genuinely looking out for the best interest of the children... the job that CPS is supposed to be doing.
My case is not in the Jackson area, it is actually across several counties which makes it even more difficult. First off, I am not a dead beat dad. My child support is paid weekly and stays up to date. I am out for the safety and well-being of my children and nothing more. They deserve to be safe, loved, and in an environment that is nurturing and preparing them for a bright future.
My sons are being abused every day at the hands of their mother, maternal grandmother, and now step-father. CPS has received six calls in total regarding them from both their school and medical professionals.
CPS tells you to take them to the hospital or police station to have pictures made of the marks. But, when you do nothing happens. The school reports the abuse when they see the marks, but nothing is done. The children are interviewed and the details of the assaults, abuse (physical, mental, and verbal), negligence, self-medicating by their mother (including giving them shots... btw she has no medical training whatsoever), poor living conditions, lack of food, failing grades from no parental involvement with them, too many absences, and much more all come out.
But, none of this is enough to take them out of the home. Not even to mention that the first time that CPS was called they said that the mother would have to do therapy and if she did it again that they would be taken out of the home. The abuse has continued for two years past that and now all of these calls, but now they are stating therapy again. Why not remove them out of the home like they said that they were going to do.
Something has to be done to wake up CPS in TN. There are too many people who are going through the same things across the state. I just wonder what it is going to take for them to wake up... a big case with a parent killing the child/children that gets national attention? TN's youth are at risk and in danger when there are other options for them to be future productive members of society and not repeat the same thing that was done to them with their children.
