Choice Home Warranty company is a scam.They refuse to pay normal and customary charges.They can not keep Contractors because of this. Edison , New Jersey

I called to report my Heat pump was not cooling the house.Choice Home Warranty told me I could use a Contractor of my choice because they didn't have one in Suffolk County NY.If you check out complaints on the internet you will understand why.I called my contractor and he found a cracked freon line.He called Choice Home Warranty and told them what the problem was and it would cost $1232 to repair,included was 14 lbs of freon.The contractor charged me $60.50/lb.CHW gave the Tech a claim number but said no one was available to give an authorization number.They told me to use a contractor of my choice and the tech spoke to them about the repair and now they only want to pay $380.00 of the $1232.00 because they only allow $20.50 /lb for freon.I called more than a half dozen contractors and they said they pay $30-35 / lb and charge $55-60 / lb.
I also called a few contractors that did work for CHW and they gagged when I mentioned their name.
They told me they were a lousy company and some were not paid for the work they did for CHW.
At the present time they don't have a contractor in my area so what do I do in the event of another problem?
I would love to file a class action suit against these people,if anyone is interested.I filed a complaint with the Attorney General in NY and also in New Jersey
