It looks like we're yet another victim of Chris Bartholomew's usual MO: He obtains goods and services using worthless checks that he then spends weeks spinning out with stories of botched transfers, busy travel and worthless credit card numbers before he finally falls silent and disappears. Chris obtained vending space for his business, this time using the name Canvas Art Wholesale (a.k.a. Wall Candy), at a sports car race we organized, paying by check the weekend of the event.

At the end of the event, he asked us to hold the check, as "funds had not yet transferred" (he is a foreign national), and said he would wire funds the following week. As the ensuing weeks turned into months, he spun more and more stories and broken promises: the "wire payment" never arrived, the credit card numbers he gave us were worthless, and of course the check "securing" the transaction had a stop payment put on it and is worthless. 

This guy is a scammer, running one of the oldest tricks in the book. Do not deal with him.
