Christian Cafe Online Dating Services, This site is a joke and no serious Christian should waste their money there. I have no idea how they received 'endorsements' from similar Christian sites! Houston, Texas

This on line dating service, allegedly for Christians, is very deceptive. Firstly, they are based in Canada so you have no real recourse in the U.S. should something untoward take place. Secondly, they lure you with a 'free' 10-day trial membership. You post a photo and a profile, etc. Problem is, when I scanned the available men in the parameters I am seeking in my locale, there were pitifully few, and pitiful. I was contacted by many out of towners, and needless to say, you have to be very naive to start something up like that. The one local man who contacted me was a pathological liar, and his profile a complete sham.

One day it said one thing, the next day, drastic changes. I never met him, but held several phone conversations wherein I was able to determine the deceptive nature of this person. Nothing he said 'added up' and when confronted with this, he blew me of by saying we were not 'a match'. I reported him by email several times to Christian Cafe but they failed to honor me with a reply. I was still in the free trial membership stage. Folks, don't even bother!

This site is a disgrace and should be exposed for what it is.  I am amazed that someone had to guts to actually face this deceptive site.

Thank you and thanks a million for bravery to stand up to foolishness that disguises itself in the name "christian"

What you won't speak about is their discrimination tactics.

Ok let's do the math. You say you met an out of towner online and have been married 18 years. Assuming that you courted for the normal 2-year period, then you must have met this person circa 1990 online. Well honey, 1990 was not a banner year for online dating, so I think your story stinks and is suspicious at best.

Online dating really took off in the last decade. And, maybe, if you are telling the truth, you are one of the lucky ones who was unscathed. Me, I am not that desperate to relocate for any man unless he is out of this world and pays all the expenses. And you are probably a Canuck defending a lame site, Christian Cafe, from American criticism.

And since you want to vomit, be my guest. In case Canada is not aware, free speech is alive and well at least for the moment in the lower 49. I can say whatever I flippin' want to say. It is not a good idea to start up with out of towners. High failure rate. And  a lot of them a re money scammers. Check the stats of the success of online hook-ups with out of towners.

Maybe you work for Christian Cafe? BTW it still sucks a year later, I checked. I think Plentyoffish owns it, which would explain why it stinks so bad.

Response to Yyyyeeahhhh....

AUTHOR: Nick - (USA)

People can meet people online for free.  Not everyone who wants to join a dating service wants to eat Hot Pockets and make out on the phone as part of the dating ritual, which is why "meeting people in your local area" is usually a selling point.

Your comment was rude, but what I find more peculiar was that you're married for 18 years, but criticizing the preferences of someone who is single and looking.  It's not ignorance that keeps people from long distance relationships, it's the fact that the original poster is probably sensitive to the deception that she found online that she posted about.  But please, go on and tell us it's all in her head, and that because it worked for you, it's for everyone.  The OP is likely guarding herself because you WOULD have to be naive to believe that everyone is telling the truth about themselves on the internet. My name is Nick, it's convincing, and it's my screen name.  But do you KNOW?  For sure?

Further, there is no recourse for a Canadian site for U.S. users, and that warning is good advice for other people looking.

Good luck OP.

You know, it's blind and baseless conclusions like the above that make me want to vomit.

I met my spouse online and they were an "out of towner", as you put it.

18 years wed and still going strong.

Keep your preconceived notions to yourself, will you?
