CHARLOTTE, N.C. Charlotte Mecklenburg Police said a man wanted for scamming promoters for tours and shows. He scammed one promoter in the amount of $80,000 for a proposed Chris Brown tour. He claimed to be Byron Bell of the Carolina Panthers and stated that he had already locked in a tour with Chris Brown and just needed $80,000 to solidify other expenses. Police released the name of a suspect, Christon Brewer, who is wanted for previous scams of a similar type. They have had a warrant out for his arrest since June, but have not been able to find him. Police said he is known to use the alias Byron Bell. Bell is a lineman for the Carolina Panthers. Bell said he had been the victim of an impersonator for the last year. According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, Brewer used Bell's identity to scam three victims for almost $100,000. Police said since the story broke last week, the department has received phone calls from other potential victims. [continued below]....

He is being called a person of interest in several on-going police investigations. If you are a promoter, professional of any type in the entertainment field or otherwise, report this man to the police as soon as you are able to identify him. This man is a criminal and has no problem scamming people for exorbitant amounts of money.
