at its best!

We have had Chrysler Financial over the past 10 years on several vehicles and paid them efficiently. Currently we have 2 autos w/ loans on them through Chrysler. In the past I have over paid one account numerous times if I had the extra $$. Some months totalling $900.00 to Chrysler on one acct. I did this in hopes of being ahead in case of hard times.

Well, hard times are here, I have been submitting scattered payments each month, paying what I can. The loan is or $390.00 per month. Some months I will pay $200. then 2 weeks later another $200.00
I really have no choice, my husbands hours were cut at work, and the economy is ridiculous right now.

For 4 yrs this loan has been paid in a timely manner, one yr left. SO..this is where the harassing, rude phone calls have begun.

First off in MA. there is a 15 day grace period, after the bill is due that the creditor cannot charge you a late fee. I owed $75.00 and was 2 days overdue with it. Chrysler's thug bill collectors called my: house phone, cell phone, work phone, husbands cell phone, my sis in law, hubby's 87 yr old grandfather, and 2 of my NEIGHBORS. YEs, I said Neighbors.

I know for a fact that none of the above referenced (except myself and hubby) were listed on application for loan, nor were any listed as references. They were extremely rude. One guy I spoke with told me that I shouldn't live "above my means"...What? I certainly do NOT! Another was threatening and told me I needed to borrow $$ from someone TODAY or he was going to come get the vehicle! For what? Being $75.00 behind by 2 days? Are you kidding me?

I tried to give him the $75.00 balance over the phone, and he wouldnt take it unless I gave him next months along with it. Chrysler has the absolute WORST customer service I have ever seen.

If I actually take all of the payments made to them on this acct and divide it by the current month, I come up with $444.63 Guess what my reqr'd payment is? $390.00 So in essence, I have been over paying Chrysler all along.

These people need to stop harassing me. They have called me starting at 8AM until 10 PM, Upwards of 10 times a day. This can't be legal. I have every intention of continuing to pay this acct. I am stressed enough trying to survive in this economy, keep heat in my home, and actually keep my home. We are not deadbeats.

The tone they use is threatening, when I aked to speak to a manager, they don't seem to have one. So who runs this chaos? There must be someone in the higher ups that would like to know that they will be losing 2 good customers in a yrs time who will NEVER ever come back, along with all of my friends and family who I have made sure to tell NEVER to get a loan through them. Word of mouth speaks volumes.

I would love to fight back to these uneducated bullies at Chrysler financial. I have had it!

grace period

AUTHOR: Cat - (U.S.A.)

The days of the grace period is about to be long gone. Just because they allowed you to be late and yes you are late if it is not in AND posted by the due date. So, the more you are late the less they will work with you. Do not be shocked if you walk outside and find your car repo'ed at some point in the near future. Cut your budget. You can give up cable, cell phones .....all the those things we lived without when people thought you were living really high when you had cable! It is possible and yes many people still do! Shocking I know, but those folks either have made "do" or their cars are paid off. I know, another shocking fact. There are tons of folks that decided several years ago to take Dave Ramsey's "Financial Peace" classes and yes it works! I have a '06 Equinox and it was purchased with cash. Oh and I got a sweet deal because you know what gets you a good deal in this economy?????? Cash in hand! Beats financial papers any day! Oh.....might as well shock you again. We cut up the credit cards 6 yrs ago and paid them off because we do not care what our neighboors think about our house or car.It frees up our lives to go back to focusing on our marriage and our love. Try it. In the meantime they are not allowed to call past 8 pm. turn a tape recorder on and tape their calls. let them leave messages so that if they leave a message it will say the time on the tape. oh the recorder needs it to say it on the tape. Ask for the supervisor and send a note to them cerify return reciept requested letting them know 8-8 the only hours they can contact you and not on Sundays. Tell them not to call anyone that is not you or your spouse. keep your voice firm but sweet as you want to keep your card. If they feel attatcked you may wake up to a re-po'd car.

Your best thing is to get Chrsitmas jobs since you will probably need money for cars and a small Christmas, stores still need Christmas people for the holidays, enough to pay several months ahead for the car in qyestion. It is what I did and they are paid off and I still have my car.

Good luck, remember, yelling at them only makes them angerier. Ask for their boss ,
mail everything return reicept requested and write out a budget every month and stick to it. Living within your means means much more than what you can afford. It also means cutting what y ou can't. So you have two cell phones. How much month between phone calls and texting are you paying? Do you have a home phone too? Kids have a phone and texting? See how much that can be cut that we did not have 15 yrs ago? If you did not have a car payment you could afford these cars.

The rip off is not the car company . The ripoff is you beliving somehow that you deserve all this crap. And yes, I bought into it new. Until my husband and I decided that we were done with the crap. We were not late, we just were living way above our means. We woke up and decided to make a radical change. The credit cards were axed and pitched, we bought cars, did not fleese them, we do a monthly budget before the month begins, we discurss any major purchase above a $400 purchase because we work together on the finances. We discuss anything to do with money and we still live in a stable neighborhood on 2 acre with less than a thousand dollar mortgage , no cc's, no car payment and other than our house, we are debt free. It can be done as long as you finally say "I"ve had it and I'm not gonna live like this anymore"! It will change your life and then you won't write here unless y ou are encouraging another person who is running behinds on payments. Then it won't matter because you will not be having to make payments only saving !Now that truly is a wonderful feeling!

Good luck and if you want any more encouragement let me know, I will gvie you any help I can. I do want something better for you than late nite calls from Chrysler Financial.

Monthly means every month

AUTHOR: Scott - (U.S.A.)

It doesn't matter what you have paid in the past. It's good that you have paid extra to the principle, that means you have shortened the loan period and will pay less in interest. But, you still need to pay the required amount every month.

Just because a late fee is not added until 15 days after due date, if you pay after the due date you are still late with payment. Also, you are probably also being reported as late to the credit agencies.
