We signed a contract with Cindy's Palace for November 3, 2012. We understood that there would be no money refunded if we didn't want to follow through with our event. We called the sales associate and told her that the event was going to be too expensive and what other options could she offer us. She told us of the Tuscany Hall that they had next door and that our $4500.00 deposit would cover the total cost. We agreed but never signed a contract understanding that it was a verbal agreement and that we would sign the contract when we went to pick out decorations. After a month or so, we come to discover from another source, not the company itself, that the Tuscany Hall has been leased to a church for the next four years. We called and asked them what was going on and they said that the events planned for the Tuscany Hall have been moved back to the main hall for the cost of the Tuscany Hall. We asked them if we could have our original contracted date for November 3rd and they said no because it was already leased out to another person. I asked if we went ahead and paid the full price for the hall could we still have the contracted date but they still declined and stated that the only dates that they have available is in September and Dec. 29th. I refused stating that why would we want to celebrate our daughters' birthday 2 months before or almost 2 months after. I asked for my money back because it was not like they held the original contracted date for us and they REFUSED! No negotiation whatsoever, just a flat refusal. We haven't even ordered anything or picked out any decorations and they are just sitting on our money. We want our $4500.00 back!!
