Cingular Cingular Wireless ripoff Former AT@T Wireless customer, problem with my current AT&T phone, I was told that cingular no longer carried at&t equipment, and that if I wanted a new phone, I had to sign a new two year contract. I could not believe what I was hearing, Austin Texas

I have a problem with my current AT&T phone, so I called my current wireless company (Cingular) asked to purchase a new phone.
to my surprised, I informed that I could not buy another phone, unless I sing another 2 year contract with cingular. without singing the contract, I could not buy a new phone.
Not only did Cingular want me to sign a new contract, my AT& T CONTRACT will no longer be valid. My current contract is 600 minutes,unlimited night & weekend... ($39.99+) my New Cingular Plan would be 450 minutes 3000 night and weekend, SAME PRICE, $39.99.
What a RIP-0ff!

hy not just buy an ATT phone off ebay? then u can continue your ATT contract and not have to deal with Cingular. Cingular bought ATT customers, not their plans or phones so if you want your same plan find an ATT phone that is compatable, Cingular phones simply just don't work on ATT plans.
