I am an employee at Circuit City, and the warranty is definitely good for your tv. When pixels start going out on your LCD, you're immediately covered by CCity. By your manufacturer, you actually have to have AT LEAST four (depending on the manufacturer - some will repair your screen when two pixels go out) pixels die in order for your television to be repaired. CCity will repair your tv as soon as one goes out. Also, if the problem cannot be corrected or parts cannot be ordered to repair your tv, CCity will replace it with the same unit. If the same unit cannot be procured, CCity will give you the exact amount you paid in order to purchase a tv comparable in features. That's an amazing deal right there.
In essence, it's still your responsibility to get the facts straight before you make purchases. If you do not believe in warranties, that's your own accord. If you buy something small, I wouldn't recommend it. But if a large purchase, it's definitely worth it. In places like Florida where lightning and power surges statistically are most common, the warranty is imperative. Some manufacturers tend to not cover your tv in these cases. CCity does.
If you can't get a straight answer from the sales associate who is helping you, request that he finds someone who can explain it better. At my store, we're highly trained and can easily tell you the benefits of CCA.

Our plans cover MANUFACTURER DEFECTS that fall outside of the original manufacturers warranty, as well as other things that you'd be hard pressed to get the manufacturer to fix, ie dead pixels in the screen, buttons ( both onthe TV and remote ) failing, bad audio/rca jacks etc etc.
People buy the plans thinking that its a magical document that will allow them to get a new product no matter what they do to it... but, no matter how many times we explain what it DOESN'T cover, people always seem to be too busy thinking about their sweet new TV to pay enough attention to this.
