Citibank is hitting us with a $12,000.00 pre-penalty payment after 7 years of perfect payments. They would not refinance our loan when we made multiple attempts to do so. We were forced to go elsewhere. We feel lied to and scammed. Upper management was just about impossible to reach, took us calling everyday for three weeks just to get a return call. We want our pre-penalty payment dismissed.

"Contract"???

AUTHOR: Jim - ()

"What does the contract say"?  They probably NEVER read what they were signing!  Of course, that is a bank's fault, right?

Just a question....

AUTHOR: Ken - ()

What does your WRITTEN loan agreement say about early payoff penalties?  That is what applies here.
