1) Charge a late fee one day early. Payment was due August 18th which was a Saturday. They charged me a $39 late fee on August 17th. There reasoning was that they were closed on Saturday the 18th. Meanwhile my payment was posted on the next business day Monday, August 20th.
2) They encourage you to pay your bill using your banks on-line bill pay. However they fail to tell you that the payment date changes every month. I signed up to pay my bill on the 16th every month and they receive payment on the 18th. My original bill's due date was the 21st. No problem I thought. Little did I know that the due date on some months were changed to the 17th. I got stuck with a few $39 late fees because of this practice.
Now I know that those interest free for four years is a fraud. They make a lot more by using these tactics. $39 late fee plus a minimum $1.50 finance charge.
This is from a customer that pays every month.

So if you ever do this again, you might be safe if you set your monthly automatic payments to be at least 1 week before the earliest expected monthly due date. Or maybe not.
