I posted a comment in City-Data forums regarding the safety of a particular area in response to a person's thread. The information provided stated that a particular area was safe for single women. I replied that the local crime stats were falsified and inaccurate and that the area would not be safe to a single mother and that she should either call the state or visit with a friend before buying in the area. I later returned to the site the following day and found a ban based on "spam". There was clearly nothing inflammatory nor commercial in my reply post, nor did I ask for any contact from anyone on the board. The site is definitely unworthy of being considered a source for "objective" data and as shown from this experience, not eligible as a worthwhile source of information for people migrating to a new area as reliance on their "data" could prove detrimental. Visitors and advertisers beware of city-data.
