 I bought a car from Clayton motor co. Aug.1 2014. Put 400$ down in cash, made a trade in for 400$.purchased a Honda crv 2000 model had approx 130,000 miles on it. Drove it off lot @ approx 5 pm went to friends house then drove home. By 730 that same evening, car was over heating. Called my mechanic, he came by next morning said let's start with easiest probs first-change thermostat. Which he did only to discover that there was no actual thermostat, but only the top metal ring of one. Take it out drive around starts overheating again. Call my mechanic, again. I have to wait till that following Monday, well car mechanics don't wrk Sun's. He came back over Mon morn. @this point he's thinking head gasket & tells me to call dealership. I do (I have to miss wrk this day, no way to get there). They don't return my call till following day, when they tell me to take to one of their recommended mechanics. @this point I tell them I can't really afford to pay for that I jst spent everything @their dealership, Doug the salesman says he'll see what he can do & call me back. (Another day off wrk missed). He does call on Wed to tell me to take it on to mechanics, they'll jst track on cost @ end of payments. Fine I have to have a car to wrk. Mechanic says it is blown head gasket it's going to cost btween 750- 1000$. I call the car dealership back they begrudgingly offer to pay 25% of total. Fine I really have no other choice. It will be ready in a week. Today is Aug 18th,I still don't have this car back! I am having to walk 30 miles a week to wrk half the hours I normally wrk. Public transportation only will get me so far. I have lost 2 of my clients because I can't get to them & one client ended up passing away before I cld get back to her(i wrk with seniors in their homes). Rob Foust the manager, is unsympathetic, unwilling to help. Told me I was lucky they've done what they did. My job is on the line because I can't get to clients that they've set me up with because they keep telling me I will have my car back on a certain day then it isn't true. My whole life is in jeopardy @this point. I'm not able to get to wrk to pay my bills & my first cat payment is coming up on a car I have yet to drive. This dealership told me that their mechanic on site refurbished the cars when they come in-that's a lie. They told me they"drive"this car up from Atlanta & it did fine-that's a lie(cars don't go very far wo thermostats)-that's a lie!They told me any problems let them know, they wld help If they could-that's a lie! The last lie was that my car wld be ready Sat, for sure, called my boss "line me up some clients"(which she did) only to find out the garage is closed on sats-. These people are playing with my life & job like it doesn't matter. DON'T BUY A CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE!
