The check shows United F. & Produce Co. in St. Louis, Mo and drawn on First Bank in Creve Couer, MO - both check out as ligitimate companies but after reading Rip Off Report - I wonder if the company shown or the bank know they are involved.
I feel that someone should be able to do something to the offending company for trying to scam people out of money and the offending companies that sell or provide your information to 3rd parties without your knowledge.
Thank goodness that my significant other had seen this scam previously and that I said something out loud and he was able to keep me from making what could have been a very costly mistake.
