After receiving a threatening email from them telling me I needed to call them IMMEDIATELY, I ended up being on hold for an hour and 45 minutes. Then, they can't tell me specifically what web site(s) or what actions occurred to cause the so called infraction, but if it continues, they can disconnect me and charge an early termination fee. How am I supposed to control what they can't define? I have 4 teenagers in the house. They are using the internet for all the same sites that every other teenager in America is using it for. Now I have to deal with threats from people acting like the Clearwire internet Nazis, for using a lousy service, that I'm paying for?

I'm back on a fast cable connection now, the kids haven't changed their web surfing, and we have no problem with our ISP.
You think I was too harsh? Go read the flood of complaints about Clearwire at (((link redacted))). You have angered a lot of people. I'm just doing my part to make sure it catches up with you and costs you more than you stole from me. When you throttled back my already slow connection, you endangered the security of my business, hindered my ability to do my job, and you will NEVER do that again.
I can frequently be seen around town these days wearing my (((link redacted))) T-shirt, or driving my my car with the (((link redacted))) bumper sticker.

I believe your well-intended report was a bit harsh. I assure you, Clearwire is not participating in 'internet terrorism.' We do, however, have provisions in place to stop overly-heavy usage of bandwidth, because many times that is a symptom of a replicating virus or a trojan and we take pains to keep our network free of these issues.
With four teenagers in the house, it is possible you are using a good chunk of the tower's bandwidth. We don't regulate or throttle connections except in the case of extreme usage. By 'extreme usage,' I mean usage that is detrimental to other connections to the tower. All ISPs do this to allow everybody the same connection options. Some sites which are bandwidth-intensive include (but are not exclusively limited to) YouTube, NetFlix, and streaming music or game sites. Other high-bandwidth use may also be attributed to torrenting and filesharing.
Our Clearwire employees do not send threats, but perhaps you interpreted the emails as such. Our Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Service are upheld, though, and we are responsible for letting you know when those are being violated so you can remedy the situation. I'm sorry you interpreted that as a threat. Every user on our network is valued and treated with respect, and we would never 'threaten' any customer or client.
I hope we can work together in the future to ensure we have a resolution that is feasible for all parties.
