Clyde Skene lied, mislead, withheld information, Bradenton Florida

At first my visits with Dr. Skene were pleasent. I was happy to go and see him as it usually meant I would hear my baby's heart beat. At or around my 6th month my prenatal care started going downhill drastically. I was told in the beginning that if anything were to ever come up in a negative way with any test results that I would be informed asap. I was asked to takemy first gestaional diabetes test.. I was told by the blood testing company that my doctor would have my results in roughly 3 days. As he personally said to me, "his office would call me should anything go wrong" I believed that and went on the assumption that everything was ok. I was rather shocked on my next appointment went his assistant Trudy stated to me that my results came in "a little high" and that I would need to take a 3 hour follow up test to make sure. I was lead back to his office, now a nervous wreck. This doctors appointment was 2 weeks after my test! In thinking back to everything I had eaten since that test Dr. Skene burts into the room stating "I'm sure Trudy told you that your results were "through the roof". Again, shocked and blown away. He, as Trudy did, stated that I would need a follow up test to confirm. We checked the heart beat and I left. After my 3 hour test his office called me as soon as the results came in. Unfortunatly I do have gestational diabetes. Trudy explained to me that I need to get my diet under control, she was going to refer me to a nutritionist and "a doctor who deals with blood sugar" (didn't really say what kind of doctor this was exactly). She told me that she was going to have these doctors call me but in the mean time just watch what I eat. In a state of panic I start looking online.. I start reading that this can cause still births, deformations, etc. I instantly called my partner Tracy. tracy then called the doctor's office. They declined to give her any information stating they did not have my consent (i've turned this into them twice now) but they can tell me that I need to buy "a little tester at wal mart" to start monitoring my sugar levels. This is where everything starts going nuts...
I get my tester.. my results are averaging in the high 90's which isn't that bad.. High is anything over 130.. I tell his assistant this information, he leads me back to his office.. He bursts through the doors demanding the records I have been keeping of my sugar levels.. I told him I wasn't told I needed to bring it in to him. He became instantly defensive stating his office has told me for months to bring this in (they didn't even tell me on the phone call that I needed this, they told Tracy who was according to them unauthorized to get any info at all on me). I told him I was not told to do this, he accused me of calling his office unprofessional, I was in shock. I could not believe this nice old man was now this evil little mean person.. I told him I ws never told to get this device nor bring the info in.. He told me that he has it documented several times (would not show me where when I asked to see) He told me that if I didn't have the care of my child in my best interest that he did, that if i wanted to transfer to another doctor he would be more than happy to send my files some place else (of course now that I am technically "high risk and no other doctor will see me) and that he would let me think what I needed to think but he knows his office has told me this information.. This is the most unoragnized doctors office I have ever dealt with, they offer no direction, they offer no help, they simply check for a heart beat and move on after charging you for a full prenatal visit. I am unfortunatly stuck with this doctor for another 2 months. I see now that I have to be my own doctor through out the duration of this process and research every little thing myself and I need to know what I should be doing as far as tests are concerned. I am a good candidate for a victim as I have never been pregnant before and have no idea what to expect out of these doctors. I encourage everyone thinking of choosing Dr. Skene for prenatal care to consider another doctor. This office has never told me how bad my tests really were nor have they told me how to control the diabetes.. Again, I've had to look this information up myself. Your better off at the county clinic.
