BEWARE OF SALE TACTICS OF COAST DENTAL - DECEITFUL practice

Aug 4th 06, I go to Coast Dental Duluth Ga, 30096 location and I'm greeted in a friendly manner like usual. Head into the office, get the x-rays, the oral exam and the visit from the D.D.S. My exam is Clean no deep cleaning was needed. I head to the receptions desk, who is also the Office Manager, and get ready to check out. I need to make another appointment for a polishing which I knew. She hands me a piece of paper which is a (Treatment plan) listing of suggested SERVICES needed. I notice that fluoride treatment is listed and tell her I do not need this treatment, for I go to a hygenest school and just did one.

She said, no problem, when you meet with the hygenest your next visit she will discuss it with you. She asked me to just sign this form for her records and no services will be preformed until it has been discussed.

Aug 10th 06, My polishing appointment with the hygenest. Things seem to go very well. She cleans, polishes and gives me a blue rinse which I ASSUME is a mouth wash which they are selling. I even commented that I use the new Crest product daily. She said, GREAT!

I again went to check out with the Office Manager / Receptions and she stated that my bill for today was $31.00 dollars. I was puzzled a bit, but paid it anyway with my credit card.

While leaving I reviewed my bill and noticed I was charged for a fluoride treatment. I returned to the office and asked to speak with the Office Manager and Hygenest.
-I asked the hygenest, if want she gave me was a mouth wash or a fluoride treatment ?
-She replied fluoride treatment.
-I asked who approved this?
-She replied, You did!
- I did?
-She replied Yea, you signed the paper
( which she is now showing me the paper which I signed for the Office Managers records )

I now turn to the Office Manager and discuss with her our conversation which took place the week before. She acknowledges our conversation and the fact that the hygenest was going to discuss the treatment plan. But, the treatment was already given. She even showed me the treatment plan where she crossed out the other fluoride treatment service that was listed.

After some back and forth, I gave up. I told her, this is a DECEITFUL practice.

I don't feel comfortable here anymore and cancelled all my families appointment. I hate when I feel ripped off.
I am now again searching for a better D.D.S.

NOTE: I am only speaking of the practice of this company. The workers were very respectful but, I feel like ever visit is a visit into my wallet. This is a small amount $31.00 dollars but, this is not the first time I had to deal with this type of situation with Coast Dental.
