I went on the sales presentation at Coco Bay Estates with my son, after being promised free wifi for the duration of my stay. It turns out we didn't even have wifi in our room, that should have been the only red flag I needed, but it wasn't.  I was told during the sales presentation that I was being offered partial/fractional ownership in the resort (5 weeks) which I thought, was something I would love to be a part of considering they told me I could stay in places like the Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton for a fraction of the price $450 a week. I know it sounds absurd now, but the salesman was so nice and seemed so sincere, I trusted him. They told me that they would sell my timeshare, that I had been completely unhappy with for many years, they gave me what they called a earnst money or good will deposit up front with the remainder of the money to be paid at a later date. Also, they promised that they would provide a contract to give me for the next 5 years $2,600 for any of the 5 weeks that I didn't use. It also came with an annuity from a reputable company called Amerashare with a 6% transfer cost that would get me the full price of the purchase back in 25 years. Me thinking it would help me with some estate planning for my son. This sounded like a no brainer, my lucky day to encounter these nice people who were going to help to rid me of my burden and help me put some money in my pocket to help with my son since I am a single mother, my knights and shining armours. Wrong..........

Unfortunately not true, none of it was true. There is no Sale of my timeshare and no $2,600 and no Four Seasons for $450 a night let alone for the whole week. The annuity when I looked up the direction in Hong Kong is a fake company, just a mail drop. No Amerashare or any other company there. The access to the website is all you get and the prices are no better than you could do on your own. No Ritz Carltons or anything higher end than a 3 star resort. I lost a great deal of money I couldn't afford to lose. The people at Coco Bay Estates should be ashamed of themselves for shattering peoples lives. And when I contacted them they wouldn't return my money stating I signed the contract and that's that. I hope my credit card company will rule in my favor since I contested the charges.  They are all in on the scam and the owners of Coco Bay Estates are from the United States and my lawyers tell me they own property. There names are Jim and Gina Correll and Jullian and Karen Rembert. I plan on holding them accountable for this fraud perpetrated by these animals. Please contact me to start a class action lawsuit so we can seize the property and homes in the United States of these fraudsters.

Ripped off at Coco - Mr. May you need to take care of your company

AUTHOR: Chris G. - ()

POSTED: Saturday, December 06, 2014

Mr. May, you posted you comment on April 29 or 30th of this year. The same day my wife and I signed with your company as was ripped off just like the many other folks.  I found your sales practices extremely dis-honest and a joke after we were told/sold many things that have never come true.  You have compliance officers like Bill Hood and Monique Kinsely who are abrasive and speak in double talk about what is or isn't in our contract.  They change their story to suit THEIR needs not the needs of the customer.  You will honestly sell things like an anunity knowing that there is a fake shell company behind it, thus stealing our money.  I challenge you personally to make this right with all of the people that have been ripped off at these properties like Coco Bay RC and Las Palmas.  You can't turn a blind eye to what is going on if you are claiming to be the owner of the property.  Would you go and buy a new car and drive it off the lot only to find the radio missing and dealership says, well you bought the car like it is, we don't sell radios, we sell cars.  Your business does the same, tells/sells you one thing, and delivers something else.  Where is the honesty in that Mr. May??

Monique/Nicole: Office Manager

AUTHOR: KKDuchess - ()

POSTED: Saturday, September 13, 2014

I successful pressured them into some money back. Monique/Nicole Kinsey de Mercedes is the office manager. Bill Hood called and said he is the owner, but he says he does not know anything going on in his building. Let's unite. The best results occur by posting on facebook, travelocity, and online reviews. Don't let others fall prey!

Fighting against CocoBay

AUTHOR: Chris G. - ()

POSTED: Sunday, August 10, 2014

My wife and I were at scammed by the folks at Coco Bay, same story as Kimberly.  I am filing this week with the FBI, thanks for the link.  Our story is so similar as everyone else.  I would be interested in talking with anyone that has been scammed as well by these folks.  We are working with our credit card company now, but not having much luck getting back our investment.  We canceled on day 14 not day 8 and they are refusing to let us out of our contract.  Any help would be appreciated.  I would be happy to share emails.  Please contact me at orion2675@yahoo.com

If you have been scammed by these people, please file form IC3 with the FBI in Richmond, Virginia.  I filed my complaint yesterday and received a phone call this morning saying if they get enough complaints they will open an investigation on these people.  the website is http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx  This may be our only hope.

Report is right on

AUTHOR: Shane - ()

POSTED: Sunday, June 22, 2014

We just got back from Costa Rica, stayed at the Bahia Turquesa and went thru the sales pitch. i never bought because I had a bad feeling about the offer but all the numbers that she reported in the complaint were exactly what they offered me. Starting price of $121k for 5 weeks, gave me $2600 per week for the first year off as a discount since I wouldn't use it, took off $18k in sales tax, offered $25k for my Hawaii timeshare and then another $45k for my Carlsbad timeshare ($10k now and $35k in 300 days). All said and done I would pay them $8k now and the other $15k in a loan. Glad I went with my gut feeling and walked away. wish I had kept my paper with all their offers. They also offer $2600 per year for the first five years to rent my week back to them. Funny how the owner says one thing and my experience matched what was originally reported.

Class Action

AUTHOR: Peggy - ()

POSTED: Monday, June 16, 2014

I would be interested in a class action suit against Coco Bay Estates. You can read my report on this website. I feel they knew these people were misrepresenting their condos and should not have allowed them to use their property to make false claims. We were even told that we would have our own owners storage for our personal things from the condo. Also that we could leave our 4 wheeler there as well. If this was just a vacation club, why would they promise these things.mi am really sick to my stomach that we have given these people our hard earned money. Coco Bay needs to step up and honor our purchase.

coco bay luxury leisure alliance

AUTHOR: vista ocotal - ()

POSTED: Friday, May 16, 2014

i also went to the coco bay, costa rica fractional timeshare presentation but i didnt buy anything there, however when we were dropped off at coco bay resort, a luxury leisure alliance representative met us and told us their deal. they are the ones you as a fractional timeshare owner would trade and use your unit with. since they were part of the fractional timeshare program we were told by them that they also were allowed to throw their sales pitch to us. you could just use their travel exchange program if you preferred. they charge 2k for this and are supposed to provide one airline ticket if you buy one plus one free week at any one of their 220 resorts that are just like you state above hilton and similar. they will also pay your maintenance fees if you then give them access to your unit. you get 20 weeks to use over the next 10 years and pay 400-500 per week depedning on what size unit you choose. if you choose to travel less than 60 days out, you can get a hot deal for 189. your friends and family can also use this deal. the cost is 200 per year with the first year waived. is this company that presents itself and uses the coco bay facilities real or a fraud?how if so can they do that? this is also a newly acquired interval international exchange resort. if this kind of thing is going on at the resort, i wonder if interval international is willing to remain an exchange company for this resort if they have fraudulent companies onsite in the facilities building selling fraudulent timeshares and possibly travel exchange programs? this travel exchange program was signed by blake lindsey from LLA. the credit card printout i got from him at time of purchase, april 25 states it went through CS travel network. The contracts talks about if you want to contact them to call/email LLA or Las Palmas Travel network.

We do not sell Fractional Real Estate

AUTHOR: Fernando May - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, April 29, 2014

I am a partner in Coco Sunset Vacation Club, Bahia Turquesa, Terramar, Miramar, Coco Bay Estates and the Residence Club at Coco Bay all of which are in Playas Del Coco, Costa Rica. We sell a vacation club, that's it. We do not sell fractional ownership. If a salesman told you that we will sell your timeshare or offered a good faith deposit he is a liar. It is not real. Nobody Markets your weeks and gives you $2,600 per week in marketing. It is a lie and you should cancel.. The contract you were provided via email is a fake and they will try to charge you more money. If someone told you that you do not have eight business days to cancel because you have marketed or rented your weeks for 2014 and activated your contract that is also a lie. Costa Rican law provides the consumer that you have 8 days to cancel regardless of your reasons. Don't let anybody tell you they will keep your $2,000 closing cost either that is also illegal and just to make sure contact your credit card company immediately to cancel the transaction and don't agree to pay the $2,000. Thank you for your time.
