College Admissions Assistance, LLC (CAA) is a scam. DO NOT sign anything. They charge $175 a month to do nothing but send emails. You can also call and ask questions, however, they do not HELP you find or do anything. During the informational meeting, they say they will help you get scholarships and help choose the right college. They do none of this. Anything they said when asked I already knew. It was nothing unusual. It was definitely not worth $2k.
When you sign up, you are told you will get a call to help get started within 3 days. No first call was ever made. We made a call to them after a week. The call was just a person reading the paperwork we got in the mail. It was all useless.
You get an official letter with personal information on it. They send a letter to the parents and child stating you have been scheduled to participate in an educational group presentation followed
by a personal interview to help determine college admission and financial aid eligibility. There is a discount offered to sign up today because they leave town for the next group of people to be scammed.
IN the end, all they said was to call if you need help. They are supposed to be helping us because they are supposed to be specially trained to help choose the best college with the most scholarships for the chosen career field.

Your experience with CAA is the opposite of what my daughter has had happen. I guess if you sit back and wait for CAA to do everything then you'll be disappointed, but they made it clear at the workshop we attended in Florida that they were partnering with you to get into the best college possible while helping find financial aid opportunities.
I'd suggest that you be proactive with their coaches by picking up the phone and calling them since you feel like you're not getting what you paid for. They've been really helpful and know what they were talking about. To call CAA a scam is just not true. My daughter still has to work hard...there are no freebies in life.

Same thing happened to me... this is a rip off... they seduce you with their "positive feedback" they also pressure you into signing the contract right there and then, with all the pressure my mom ( a single parent who makes not a lot of money) and I signed the contract... the person who was "helping" us out said that we could get a "trial" for one month (we were still to pay for that month) so we thought "hey why not give it a try"... i used the resources and they were terrible! the information they give is what you could get online for >>>FREE<<<. When we tried to cancel it, because we didn't like it (it was not what we thought it was going to be-- it had just simple "information") they said "No."

Our family experience with CAA couldn't be more opposite. The lady at the workshop gave us several days to fill out the assessments and this worked out great because our daughter had ample time to get it completed. Then we logged in to their automated system without any issues and found that navigating their software system was fairly intuitive.
We have a daughter in 10th grade who's in the CAA program and we found the CAA coaches to be knowledgeable and very timely in their intervention. I mean, when you're in 10th grade you only want to be contacted when there's something worth dicussing, and the coach we work with seems to know exactly when they need to get involved to help our daughter make the right decisions to prepare for college.
They came up with a great starting list of colleges that matched her profile. Yeah, it's been a good experience for us...it's unfortunate for whomever wrote this post, but maybe there were steps CAA suggested that you somehow missed. I know one thing, it is NOT as scam! I have to say that as her Dad, she's more focused on going to college than ever before.
