Today (July 10th, 2009), my mother, went to her bank and found out that $127 was taken out. They informed her it was due to an order she had placed with Colon Cleanse. The company's website (www.coloncleanse3000.com) advertised a free trial which required payment only for the s/h ($4.95). My mother took the free trial offer on July 8th, 2009 thinking she'd only be charged $4.95. When she had found out they had taken out more than they had claimed, she was horrified considering she is a frugal woman who wouldn't spend $127 on anything she had not tried or seen before. We called the company's free 888 number and my mother explained her situation. After laughing at my mother's frustration, they simply told her that she had ordered four bottles and that it had already been shipped, that there was nothing they could do about it now. My mother is not so far gone that she would order four bottles to cleanse her colon much less at the price of $127. There was no emailed notice or online receipt of her purchase.
More over, my mother just confirmed with her bank that the company had initially taken out the correct amount of $4.95 and THEN took out $127. A woman claiming to represent Colon Cleanse called my mother to confirm the order the same day the order was placed and once she told them that she was only getting the free trial, the woman said "Okay" and hung up. My father called the Customer Support for Colon Cleanse and said that they don't make outbound calls.
After numerous calls, my parents are giving up the battle and settling with what they've been dealt. We are appalled and hope no one else sees this kind of customer service or treatment from any company that's claiming to help you live a better life.
