Great at selling - awful at paying a claim. 30 day waiting period is actually 60 for some items, though the sales person won't mention this. I researched a number of different companies before buying.  Colonial gave me a great deal and the salesperson was so slick. I asked many many questions and his answers were seemingly perfect. But, then I had a claim. Nope, not covered.  The exact item that needed to be replaced had a 60 day waiting period instead of 30.  Hmmmmm, interesting, the sales guy didn't mention a word that there would be an additional 30 days for some items.  So, since he had said I could cancel at anytime for a refund, be proceeded to cancel.  Of course I was left on hold over half an hour after I said I needed to cancel. Then began a process of 30 minutes of haggling to get told that the refund would have deducted out of it a prorated rate of the full and regular price of the policy. That was double what I was actually sold.  Oh and an additional $50 processing fee.  So, I paid 320 /year of coverage that I canceled 5 weeks into and was charged $91 for those 5 weeks of nothing!  Please don't trust a word the salesperson tells you.  They are sneaky.  Also, the claims department is argumentative and accusatory.  Please don't throw your money away to Colonial.  Save yourself the headache and rise in your blood pressure!
