Beware of volunteering at Cherry Valley Resorts, due to the fact, they use you over and over again and nothing in return except you don't have to pay for your week out in order to stay in the park. This is no longer a five star resort as it is advertised due to the following:
No Bingo, No Wii games, in other words No Activities, except horse shoe tossing, (for adults only). There is a "club house" which offers television (which is not very good) a broken down pool table and jigsaw puzzles for adults only. They do offer free (they request tips) coffee, punch, tea, and sometimes ice for drinks as well as small plastic disposable cups for the liquid of your choice. The "club house" is usually opened by 7AM and locked up tight at 10 pm daily. The pool and jacuzzi are fenced in and surrounded by a wrought iron fence which is also locked, off limits to members at 10PM. Why is this happening to paying members?
The grounds are maintained by one man five days a week for six to eight hours on these days. Too much upkeep for one man. Also, the showers, eight in total and the toilets, eight in total and two urinals look as though they haven't been cleaned in weeks..
The laundry facilities are just about the only thing that Cherry Valley has to offer. I personally know of one couple, who live off the grounds, who are members, who come in once or twice a week to do their wash, because of the laundry facilities.
The Youth Center is well maintained and is only open Friday from morning to night, Saturday, from noon til nine and Sunday from noon to nine. Not open during the summer months except for the above days and times. Not a very good family park as advertised

Cherry Valley is open year round to our members. Depending on the season (winter/summer) the activities vary. Since this is an anonymous post we cannot be sure of the timeframe this member is speaking of.
I am looking at a current activity sheet for Cherry Valley and it is full of activities, from meals, to bingo, to seminars to dances. Because we are in our winter season, the youth center is only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In the summer this will change. Since our parks are family parks we have a quiet hour. We close the pool areas at all the parks at 10:00 pm. It is county regulation that a pool area be fenced and secured; a regulation that we agree with since our parks are full of children a lot of the time. I am sure that any parent or grandparent would agree that a fenced pool area is a good thing.
We have a full staff at Cherry Valley and the maintenance of the facilities is monitored and inspected by the manager. We periodically visit and inspect each park and assess the cleanliness of the facilities ourselves. We apologize if you found the facilities in the condition you mention, and thank you for bringing it to our attention. We will respond accordingly.
