I like CTU because it's one of the more reputable online schools out there, that uses such an aggressive schedule. It's kind of a total package for what I needed. There are other schools, public schools even, that offer online courses, but they are much more demanding of your time and may require you to show up weekly or every two weeks...they still call their classes "online". My work schedule is extremely demanding and subject to travel. This school has everything I need to work around my schedule.
Just like any other school, there are good professors and bad ones. Many of the professors I've had, work at multiple schools, including ground campuses elsewhere. You can look at this as a good or bad thing. Good, because it shows they bring on qualified personnel, bad, because many of the professors tend to have very tight schedules. That being said, I have never had a professor who didn't respond to an email or didn't provide their personal number for over the phone assistance if it was sought out. If you have a bad instructor, you report them and/or you give them a poor write up in the course survey. CTU asks their students to critique every course upon completion. This feedback is the only way they know how to improve their practices.
Yes, they are a for-profit school, but that also means, they want to provide you a good service to ensure your patronage and recommendations to others. The point of any business is to ensure the customer is happy and tells others to shop there as well. The onsite library and archives are very informative. I watched a 6hr tutorial on MS Project Pro that taught me everything I needed to know about the program. There are tons of "lab" tutorials you can watch, whether or not it's a part of your degree program. Plus, as alumni, you can log into the school's site and utilize their resources whenever you want. Plus, they are only one of a handful of schools that work with PMI and help to expedite your PMP certification process, one of the biggest reasons I went to this school. Certs seem to be the hotness right now and the PMP is very desirable in my line of work.
And lastly, the school is expensive as all hell, I'll admit that. But for the convenience and service they provide, I think it is worth it for me. That being said, however, I may look to a "bigger name" when taking my MBA graduate courses, because, unfortunately, there are too many postings like the one above who give CTU a bad reputation.

When complaints were filed by myself and other students with the Dean the only response we all received was that the new instructors aren't on the same page as CTU and they hope to rectify the problem. How does that help a student with the current situation? It doesn't, and when the professor finds out you filed a complaint you are the one who suffers.
So granted for those who had a great experience with CTU two or more years ago that is great. Unfortunately students that are currently attending CTU wish they were able to have those experiences but unfornately can't and need to let future students know what they are signing up for.

The professors I had were well versed on the subject that they were teaching and they were very supportive to my success in their class. The support of the learning center is great and the library resources are amazingly easy to navigate.
I am currently continuing my eduation at CTU on a MBA with a concentration in accounting and still have the same quality professors I have experienced in my undergraduate courses. It is unfortunate that some have had a bad experience at CTU but sometimes it may be a personal issue that interferes with the overall experience. It is important to be personally responsible when taking an online education and with a dedicated approach most should have a positive experience at CTU.
To address the initial post directly I never found the professors to be nasty to the students. The cost that was experienced by the individual is not what I have experienced what so ever. CTU from my experience and good judgement is not a rip-off what so ever.
So I hope this will counter some bad information the initial post is portraying.
