Columbia House DVD Columbia House Unauthorized Charges on Bank Account Clackamas Oregon Internet

I signed up with Columbia House at the beginning of this year for their introductory program. The charge was about 27 dollars, but I got 6 DVD's and I am a movie fanatic so that was fine.

In the beginning of this month a charge for 25 dollars went through and I received the DVD 21. I loved the movie so I was fine with paying for it.

However, on the 27th of this month another charge for 25 dollars appeared on my account. When I called customer service they had no record of it, and attempted to tell me that it was probably a hold for the previous charge that had already went through.

That doesn't fly with me- I'm not an idiot, and I realize that a HOLD on my account would've been gone the minute that charge went through.

Well, since my account was low on funds that charge didn't process, and instead put me negative and I've incurred a 19 dollar overdraft fee.

Since it didn't go through they AGAIN tried to take it out, without authorization, and with no reason to charge me another 25 dollars in the first place.

I called my bank and have since cancelled my debit card, as well as canceled the program through Columbia House. The woman I first got was snippy as f***, and basically hung up on me after telling me that it was canceled.

She also told me that I'd be charged for the additional DVD's I was supposed to buy. But sadly, they have no access to my account anymore. If I get sent to collections I will be billing Columbia House for my 38 dollar total overdraft fee, for trying to take money out that I did not owe them in the first place.

This is complete bullsh*t, and they should be shut down.
