In December, 2012 I had Comcast install their Home Security system in my apartment. From day one the service worked. I was told that I had three days to cancel, but when I tried to cancel within thoe three days the company told me I had 30 days. I called and cancelled within the timeframe for doing so. The system never worked from day one. It was online intermittently and never provided full coverage. They themselves confirmed that it was not working, so I told them they need to pick their equipment up. I gave them a chance to try to correct the problem...the matter was made worse after the guy left. I told them to come pick up the equipment they gave me an appointment two weeks later and never showed up. They scheduled another appointment and never showed up to pick up the equipment. That is not all they did to me. After canceling the home security service they canceled my cable service as well.. I never asked them to do that...a supervisor told me it would take 24 hours to correct the situation...however, that supervisor decided to go above the call of duty and get me reconnected..we wewre on the phone to hours doing that. After not showing up for two appointments, I suddenly get a knock at my door one day without notice. This was six weeks after I cancelled. I didn't let the guys in as someone I know in law enforcement told me not to do. In any event, now I received my bill and found out that I am being chargd for the system that I was told that I would not have to pay for. They claim to have credited my bill, but I called back and discovered other charges that home security has posted to my bill. I would highly recommend that anyone who is thinking about signing up for home security with Comcast walk the other way. They are complete liars and their system does not work. Sometimes the system would say it is online when it really wasn't...gives a false sense of security. Please be very careful when dealing with this company.
