The first incident happened in the Fall of 2003 after I moved out of my apartment in Grand Prairie. First I called Comcast to transfer my phone service to my new apartment in Arlington. But the service date was almost a month out so I decided to contract with SBC instead and surely called Comcast to entirely cancel the transfer and the phone service. I spoke to a young male customer rep and he just said "okay." But they still billed me at that apartment for months even though no one lived there. I found out when I went to the post office in that zip code to collect any strayed mail and got comcast statements and a collections statement. This was on my credit report. So I disputed it and it took almost 6 months to be corrected.
I don't recieve mail at my new apartment in Arlington because my mom is the manager of the complex therefore I live there free and we have the type of mailboxes that require tenants to bring their lease contract to the post office in order to get the key so I just list my mailing address at my moms house. The reason why I mention this is because when my mom got ahold of mail from the apartment mailbox there were more Comcast statements that claim they turned on phone service for me at my new apartment!
I specifically called to cancel it before I got service from SBC. So how on earth can I have two phone lines with two different companies in a one bedroom apt at the same time? Plus, if I really agreed to their service, they would have had my correct mailing address.
I faxed a dispute letter to the collection company but it still hasnt been resolved. I have contacted Comcast ever since the first incident and their responses were apathetic, all they can say is "I'm sorry, but you have to pay." Over and over and keep trying to get me off the phone.
They also claimed to show no notes of the prior rep indicating I called to cancel when I know I did. I asked a rep if they have those calls recorded- he said yes. So I said well lets listen to them- then he said we are not allowed to.
Personally I have worked in customer service and collections myself for almost 5 years of my young life so I know how to keep my service companies updated and am familiar with their practices.
I believe every person has a devil figure in their life. Such as psycho ex-lovers, babymamas/daddies, boss, etc.. well mine is Comcast!
Basically, I want to be compensated for my inconvenience and cost. I have lost lots of money over the years from paying high interest with credit companies such as car, credit cards, loans, and I keep getting denied from getting new credit or refinancing because Comcast did me very wrong and messed up my credit.
I would have near-perfect credit if it wasnt for them.I have been nothing but honest to them. They have been nothing but decieving.
Too bad we dont have any other cable competitors here except satellite. Or else Comcast would get smashed. Most of their phone reps seem to be so used to having irate customers that they lost their caring morality. One word to describe them: GHETTO.
If you need a phone line, do not go with Comcast. They will find anyway to either drill undeserved money out of you or they will ruin your credit if you try to leave them. Each time. Wow, I just realized all this really is similar to having a psycho ex-lover.
I would not be surprised if they got the mafia after me heck. I have contacted a lawyer- will be back for updates
