at its best!

Their check acceptance policy states valid drivers licence, State id or federally issued photo identification. I gave them my passport which is a government (federal) issued legal document with photo included. Would not accept it. Wanted a drivers license or state id. Would not take my check.

When I call corporate, they said they do not accept passports. If you look up passport, it is considered a legal document.

Sorry, but how were you damaged?

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

I'm sorry, but I fail to see how you were damaged by their refusal to take your check. It may be an inconvenience to you, but if you wanted the item bad enough you could've either paid by credit card or withdrawn the cash from an ATM or your bank to make the purchase.

Bottom line is that you have no "right" to make a purchase by check. Check acceptance is a courtesy and a business does have the right to set their policies as they deem appropriate. If they are willing to lose a sale because of their restrictive policies, so be it.
