I have contacted the bank and also the help customer help line and I get nothing. I have in the last month been hit with over 30 NSF's @ $38.00 each.
The Cleburne Branch wants nothing to do with helping you fix it. They just told me that it was my fault in the first place. They said I show keep my check book balanced better than I have.
I also hate when you make a deposit that it takes until the next day for it to show but it may not be posted yet. Whether its cash of by check.
I plan to close the account and go to another bank that I have used before and they help with any problems that I ever had before whend using them.

More customers that come together and can accurately report the same wrong doing makes us more believable..This is David and Goliath contact your local bbb.org, file a complaint with fdic.gov, and the state charted bank of Texas.
I see alot of complaints here and they have a bad rep..but no one listens unless its in the news.
They (Compass) have been sued for many things look that up on gov. sites district court orders and supreme court orders have been won on the behalf of defendants.
They are known to prey and abuse low and minority income people..
Save all bank statements and atm receipts for your own good--you'll need them if you decide to "blow the wistle" with the fdic as I am going through right now..
Good Luck

You made a mistake - you did not keep an accurate ledger regarding you debits and credits - not the bank's fault - It is your fault - Learn to balance a checkbook be it in writing or setting up a spreadsheet - You have no basis for a lawsuit

Your only evidence is your checkbook register and if you screwed up, forget it - they win. You may find a bank that doesn't post checks/debits in descending order and then deposits last, but there aren't many left as they're all going to go that route. Accordingly, keeping an accurate checkbook balance is vital - in this case, it cost you over $1,000 by not doing so.
However, you will find that cash deposits will generally post same day IF the deposit is made early in the day - however the deposit will still post after all checks clearing the bank do so. If the deposit is made later in the day, it depends on the bank as to when they post the transaction; usually it will be the next day.
With 38 NSF's it's unlikely how sympathetic they'll be to you as far as returning any of the fees - my guess is not depending on how often prior to the 38 NSF's you bounced the account. If you bounced checks before (it would seem you did given the fact that most banks charge a customer a lesser fee for the 1st NSF), there would be no way. If you didn't, you might try and claim OOPS I don't know - I'm a good customer, etc.... and then don't do it again.

Join a credit union. Deposit your check at the credit union. Get money orders for whatever bills you have to pay and pay CASH for whatever else you need. Just think, you'd be $1,140 richer without all the NSF fees. It's like giving yourself a $1,140 a month raise. Cut up the credit cards and the debit cards.
