Customers BEWARE of doing business with Kris Trawick and Concrete Living, LLC. This man ripped me off $2,205.00.  I paid him $1,102.50 on 02/15/12 and  $1,102.50 on 03/06/12.  He has refused to complete the work I paid him to do.  He has also refused to answer my phone calls, my emails or pay me back the $2,205.00 he took from me. This man also lied to us. He told us he was bonded and insured but he was not.  His estimate to acid stain our patio was $2,205.00. He supposedly finished the job, I paid him in full. The next morning there were horrible sealer roller marks all over the patio. He did work on it a few days to strip the patio. He said he had other work to do and needed the money from other jobs. We were very patience and told him we understand and to complete the work as soon as he could.  He promised me he would complete the job satisfactory. Then he stopped showing up.  My husband asked him if he was bonded and insured. He said yes, he was.  Then a few weeks later he admitted to my husband that he had lied to us and that he was not bonded nor insured. My husband lost his patience with this contractor and told him to finish the job within three days. Kris Trawick then refused to come back and do the work saying that my husband threatened him. This was not true. He was just looking for an excuse not to complete the work because he knew it would take more money to fix his mess or he did not know how to fix the mess he made. The cheapest estimate we have gotten to complete the work is $3200.00, because extra work will have to be done to clean up the mess made by Kris Trawick/Concrete Living, LLC.  This has been a very disappointing and disturbing issue.  Since this is now December 2012, Kris Trawick has no intentions of completing this job or paying us back the $2,205.00 he took from us to do this job.   I will file a judgment against him. I now know this will not be the first time he has had a judgment filed against him.

01/08/13 Still No Response from Kris Trawick/Concrete Living, LLC . Now Attaching Pictures of our Patio in the condition he left it in.

AUTHOR: plushpalace - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 08, 2013

I have received a nasty email from Kris Trawick's wife. She says her husband will deal with me and my husband in whatever ways necessary and this matter will eventually be resolved.  She stated Kris Trawick would address this issue after the Holidays.  She stated, your concrete had an uncontrolled reaction."  Now how does she know this when she was not here. This is what her husband told her to cover up his mistake, which he did not, could not and will not correct. Just like he has not returned our money nor contacted us since July 26, 2012, to attempt to resolve this issue.

I am attaching pictures of the patio in the condition it was in when Kris Trawick walked off this job and refused to correct his mistake. There was no chemical reaction that caused his mistake. The mistake was horrible sealer roller marks all over the patio. The pictures attached show the amount of sealer and black stain that was never removed from the patio. Therefore, all his talk about the 30 day waiting period required to stain it again makes no sense. This is just one of his many excuses as to why he did not complete the job.  There can be no 30 day waiting period until the sealer and stain is properly removed. The photo also shows a newly poured concrete walkway adjacent to the patio. All of this concrete was poured on the same day.  He had newly poured, properly cured concrete to work with.  The old house, old concrete, chemical reaction statements are all false statements in an attempt to blame something else, as well as even blaming his customer for his mistake and failure to complete this job. Not sure what his excuse his for justifying keeping all the money we paid him to satisfactory complete this job.

Kris Trawick DBA Concrete Living, LLC was found not to be reliable, honest nor professional in his dealings with us as a contractor.

AUTHOR: plushpalace - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, December 20, 2012

I am sure Kris Trawick has done satisfactory work for many customers. However, this is not the experience we had with him.  Sending messages, emails and making phone calls to attempt to get someone to finish a job you have paid them to do,  or to get them to at least pay you back the money, is not harassment.  I did post comments on his FaceBook.   ALL true comments! We really need this money to get this patio finished.  I am tired of his lies and failure to communicate with me or do the right thing. I have no idea what you are talking about by saying I tried to hack into their personal pages. You have no personal knowledge of this and this is not true.  I do not even know how to hack a computer.  This is legal slander.  If I find out who you are, tmsand, I can sue YOU for slander.  I suspect you are related to Kris Trawick.   If you had this same experience with Kris Trawick/Concrete Living, LLC you would understand. I am glad that was not your experience with him. Kris is a very likeable person. In the beginning, I was very excited to have him do this work for us. I liked him,  trusted him and thought he was honest, reputable and professional.  We have been very disturbed that he has abandoned us and told so many lies to cover up what happened with our patio. EVERYTHING stated in my complaint is TOTALLY TRUE.  If you actually know us, as you say you do, you would know we would not post an untruth on the web. We would not risk a slander law suit.

We have a legitimate complaint to file a judgment. I have not done so yet for three reasons. First, I was giving him more than ample time to pay us back the money. Second, at this time, I do not have his current address. It was not on the estimate he gave me. It was not on the receipt he gave me and he refused to give it to me when I asked for it. Now why do you think a contractor would intentionally not disclose his address?  It is because he has had other judgments filed against him. Going by the information I see on the previous judgments, most likely for similar reasons.  He does not want customers to know his address and he certainly does not want us to know his address. To file a judgment, you must have a current address so the civil court can serve the person with the judgment.  He knows this.  Third, I have met his beautiful wife and precious children.  Therefore, I have hesitated to do anything that would hurt his business. However, a lawyer told me, It is not right to let him get away with this without taking legal action.

Your rebuttal has so upset me that I will make EVERY attempt to get his address so I can file the judgment ASAP. You have been grossly lied to by Kris Trawick. We did not have an uncontrollable chemical reaction on our concrete. Our home is not an older home. The concrete was all new concrete, recently poured and had just cured enough for the staining process to be done. The issue was horrible sealer roller marks all over the 850 sq. ft. patio. This was due only because it was applied by using too much pressure on the roller and applied during the heat of the day.  He was also trying to make his last bucket of sealer go too far. Not enough sealer on the roller caused the sealer to flash dry on the concrete. When he finished that day, I paid him in full not realizing there would be any reason the job would not turn out satisfactory.  The next morning I was shocked and horrified to see all the sealer roller marks and swirls all over the patio. I called him and told him we had a serious problem. He came to see the patio. He said he had only had that happen twice in his career. He promised to correct his mistake and get the job done perfectly and to our satisfaction.

I know Kris did not intend for this to happen. Everyone makes mistakes from time to time,  but he should have corrected his mistake or paid us back the money he took from us. For months we did not say a harsh word to him. We were very understanding and patience, even though he said he needed to stop working on our patio and do other work because he needed the money. We told him we understood and as long as he promised to correct the mistake and finish the job, we would not pressure him.  He was paid $1105.00 in February, as required to buy materials to do this job. He was paid $1105.00 on March 06, 2012, the day he finished applying the sealer.  By May 31, 2012, he still had not stripped the sealer to correct his mistake so the patio could be stained again.  It was also apparent by our conversations with him that he did not know exactly what to do to correct the mistake so that the job could be done satisfactory.  When the job was not done properly my husband asked him if he was bonded and insured. He said, Yes I am. Then many weeks later when he knew our patience might run out with him, he admitted to my husband that he was neither bonded nor insured.  Again, we were understanding and patient with him.   We accepted his apology and told him to just finish the work as soon as he could.  He even made the comment to me that he was thankful  we were Christians and understanding and patient with him.

The name calling and threats that he told you about  was  misleading. My husband after such a long time of dealing with him and all his excuses and dishonesty said,  Boy, you have three days to complete this patio."  He became furious because my husband called him a "boy" even though my husband is old enough to be his father.  Not once did Kris show up early in the day, late in the day or on a weekend to finish stripping the sealer off the patio so he could complete this job. The patio was sloped which made it more difficult to get the sealer off easily. He was tired of fooling with it. He did not know how to effectively remove all the sealer to satisfactory complete the job and was looking for an excuse to walk away from it. He did abandon us and refused to come back and finish the job, all the while telling lies about what was actually going on and keeping the money we paid him. We certainly NEVER told him not to return to our property.

I am attaching emails sent to and received from Kris Trawick.  Please note the dates.   I have received no correspondence from him since July 26, 2012 when he emailed me that he would send us $1600.00 and the balance as soon as he could.  Mr. Contractor and Customer of Kris Trawick, I would be happy for you to come to our home and look at this patio.  I do not expect Kris Trawick to list a rebuttal to my complaint. He knows it would be slander for him to list on the web what he has told you. Dont you think it is odd that he has ignored this complaint and not already listed a rebuttal?  I can assure you if he makes an untrue rebuttal to this complaint, I will not hesitate to sue him for slander.  Read the emails listed below and then make your own judgment as to who is telling the truth.

Kris, I have contacted my lawyer. He told me to go ahead and get an estimate to have the patio work completed and then contact him again. Since you have not returned my phone call nor emailed me, we have no other choice but to proceed with legal action to file a judgment against you in small claims court.  Regardless of what happened with the sealer, which was unfortunate (but not uncontrollable as you previously stated) it is your responsibility to make it right by finishing the job or paying for the work to be done by someone else. I am very hurt and very disappointed. In the beginning, I really liked you and trusted you. However, at this point, since you have been dishonest with us and refused to complete the job, all while having $2,205.00 of our money since February and March, I do not trust you at all. Your statement, My reputation speaks for itself and I definitely wouldn't be where I am by performing sub standard work as you and your husband have suggested on the phone and in your email. Surely you do not call the work you did for us standard, so what do you call it...and regardless of all your excuses, you did not work nor put in the hours you should have to correct the issue like a professional business man would have. I am sure you have completed good work, but your reputation has certainly spoken for itself with this job. If you, your business and your reputation was what you claim it to be, you would not have lied to us about being bonded and insured and you would have completed this job in a timely manner, and we would never have gotten to the place we are now. If you would prefer to make arrangements to pay us the money that it will take for the job to be completed by someone else, let me know. Otherwise, I will proceed as stated in my previous message to you.  Kathy

Subject: Exterior Patio Estimate
Importance: High

Mr. Trawick, The estimate for sanding and cleaning damage to patio ($3200.00), resurfacing concrete (so stain will take properly) staining and sealing is listed below. The estimate we got from the other company was $5.00 per square foot to clean up existing patio and apply finish and seal. Concrete Living, LLC received a total payment of $2205.00 to complete this patio job. However, the work was not satisfactory completed due to excessive roller marks on the patio surface. Kris Trawick, owner of Concrete Living, LLC,  failed to fix the mistake and then refused to come back to complete the job. Please let us know ASAP or by Tuesday when we can expect to collect the money due to us for damages to the surface of the patio and the cost to have another contractor to complete the job.  If you cannot come up with $2,700.00 in the very near further;  To avoid legal action and the other ramifications that will occur due to this unresolved issue, I suggest that you make arrangements to complete the stripping of the sealer from this patio and stain it in a timely manner.   Thank you, Jack and Kathy

(In an email I cannot find, I had agreed to accept $2700.00 to resolve the issue.)

I only have $1600.00. I have more work coming up that I can start in couple weeks. I had an accident where I slammed my fingers shut in car door and severed tendons on one finger, so I haven't been able to do much work. I can send you what I have now and rest in couple of weeks that's all I can do. If I wouldn't have injured my hand as bad as I have I would have the total by now and I apologize. Just let me know what you want me to do. Thanks KRIS TRAWICK    Sent from my Verizon Wireless Phone

Kris, I am so sorry to hear about your fingers. Does the doctor think you will have any permanent damage?  I certainly hope not. I know you are having issues with your knee also. I am really sorry you are going through this. If we were not so broke and money so tight I would not need the money so badly at this time. However, there is no way I can get the patio finished without money from you or borrowing money. Right now we are living week to week and praying that our needs will be met.   I was advised not to take a partial payment. However, I am going to trust that you will do the right thing and pay the balance as soon as you can. Please send us a cashier's check for the $1600.00 asap and keep in touch and let me know when you can send the balance or another payment.

Kris, We need to hear from you ASAP.  Frankly, I do not understand why you would tell me you have $1600.00 to send us and 12 days later we do not have a check. I need to know what is going on. Your lack of communication does not set well with me and I am beginning to think that you are just stringing us along trying to buy as much time as you can. I need the truth! Do you intend to try to work this out or not??  This will be my last and final attempt to work this out with you. If I do not hear from you within three days, I will proceed with filing a judgment as well as other actions discussed in an attempt to protect other future customers from experiencing the same thing as we are at the hands of Concrete Living, LLC.      Kathy

I am really baffled about Kris' actions.  I cannot understand why he would tell me he had $1600.00 to send me and then not send it nor answer my emails and let me know what is going on. Does Kris have a problem with depression or maybe a drinking problem? Yes, I am upset about paying him $2205.00 and still not having a patio completed. I am also upset about his failure to communicate with me or keep his word. I found Kris to be a very likeable young man and I trusted him. I am just very hurt and very surprised about all this issue. I hope you will answer me. I would really like to communicate with you about this issue. If Kris is having physical/health issues, please let me know.

I have started legal proceeding against Kris Trawick and Concrete Living, LLC with the Federal Trade Commission. Their mission is to prevent business practices that are anticompetitive, deceptive, or unfair to consumers.

I have been very busy, otherwise I would have already taken the steps I am taking now.  I will be listing complaints on the web and next week and I will see what I need to do to file a judgment in small claims court.  Kathy

AUTHOR: tmsand - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, December 20, 2012

I am a local contractor who is a close business colleague and customer of Kris's. He informed me about the customer above and to check out the report. The unfortunate part is that she and her husband (who I also know of- he works for another local contractor) have been harrassing Kris and his wife for months on end. She has posted defamatory comments on their Facebook business page, attempted to hack into both of their personal pages, made threatening phone calls and emails, yet has failed to pursue a legal route. This says to readers of the report that there must not be much truth to her claims. Concrete Living LLC specializes in acid stained concrete and restoration. The customer above had an uncontrollable chemical reaction on their concrete when an attempt was made to stain it, which is always possible when working on an older home. I have seen it many times with my own clients. Kris informed her husband of this matter and discussed the steps to repair the concrete which he wholeheartedly intended on doing. This meant using an additional chemical stripper, after which involves a minimum of 30 days before re-application of stain. Her husband exploded over the phone at Kris due to the waiting period of this chemical, screaming at him, calling him names, and made threats while Kris tried to reason with him. His wife denies this behavior of course...
What the above report does not state is that Kris tried to work and reason with this customer despite their actions and behavior, but they refused to cooperate and instructed him not to come back to their property. Kris Trawick has extensive skills and knowledge involving concrete and the chemicals involved, and he would never abandon a client. Kris has an excellent reputation and has done residential and commercial work which is very impressive for many happy customers. This is how I heard of him myself, and I am glad I called him about his services.
I hope this testominy helps anyone who reads the inaccurate report above see that it should be nothing more than ignored, I look forward to reading the accurate story in detail, which Kris said he plans on rebuting himself in the near future.
