What looks like a good price on the surface quickly balloons to outrageously expensive as the repair bills mushroom like the fungus on the wet rotting walls. It usually takes from three to five years for a newly constructed building to evidence leaky condo syndrome that was typically associated with SYNTHETIC stucco.
However, too many CONCRETE high rise towers also leak especially around the floor to ceiling windows! New home warranties are so full of exceptions to what is covered that you can drive a tractor trailer through them - not worth the paper they are printed on.
Self-congratulatory home builder industry awards are given for marketing purposes only to bring in the suckers. If the product you buy does not work and leaks - the developers aint legally obliged to fix it!
Want to know who has a track record of problem buildings? Look up www.myleakycondo.com for Canadian info before you get taken. For consumer victims interested in action, look up www.soakedhomes.com. P.S. Some of these developers have gone South and set up shop in U.S. boom areas because the burned Canadian CONsumers are not buying any more!
