Consolidated Media Services Company investigated my DoJ rip-off Smyrna Georgia

This company sent material in the mail to my fiance. They stated that she subscribed via the phone to 8 magazines for 4 years. The magazines were: Rolling Stone, Vogue, Elle, Ebony, Jet, Essence, Black Enterprise, and Travel Holiday. First off, my fiance has never, ever read a copy of Ebony, Jet, Essence, or Black Enterprise; these are totally culturally different than what she is.

They stated that they already had her credit card information and they were going to start billing. They were going to bill 12 consecutive monthy installments of $39.00 for a total of $468.00.

She never talked to them on the phone, never gave her credit card information to them or agreed to any such subscriptions. When she called them and asked, they told her that they had received her CC info from Mastercard directly and were a Mastercard promotional affiliate. She asked to cancel on the phone, they told her that she could not cancel over the phone.

She had to mail in the cancellation order that was included in the mailed material she received. The kicker was that the cancel order had to be received within 10 days of the statement date on the original statement. That left her with 2 days to get the cancel order from Washington state to Georgia.

We are watching her credit card statements to ensure that she is not charged, and she has not been to this date. This company, Consolidated Media Services is reportedly being investigated by the Department of Justice for fraud. A Google.com search will bring up references to that investigation.
