Consumer Portfolio Services Adding interest upon interest Irvine, California

I originated my loan with ACC Consumer Finance in the Fall of 2007.   I made monthly payments to this company, until the fall of 2009 when the company went out of business.  In December 2009, although I was never notified; Consumer Portfolio Services assumed my loan.  This year was to be my last year to pay Consumer Portfolio Services. However; for some odd reason I still owe a total of 906.00 to this company.  Although, I had been late a few times, I never missed a payment.  When I questioned the amount. 

An audit was given to me which showed I had made a total of 60 payments to the company.  During my adventure with Consumer Portfolio Services, I have had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Gomez and Ms. Ann neither of these representatives could explain the amount.  First Mr. Gomez explained these were late charges...then Ms. Ann stated that was what the computer showed.   I have added up my payments and I have paid this company in full. However; they still continue to harass me for the amount.  I have filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau; as with the Federal Trade Commission. 

I would encourage anyone who has had a similar experience to the same.  I believe this company makes money off others misfortunes.  My original debtor went out of business an I believe this company is attempting to receive compensation for taking over the my loan.  Hopefully, this will be resolved.  I caution anyone who is looking for loan or if your loan has been sold to this company, please be pro-active!  Make sure you keep your original contract (I still have mine!)  So, if there are any disputes you will have the information readily available.  At best stay away from this company!  They are utilizing predatory practices.
