I was told not to purchase a extended warranty from my dealership that I could get one from continental for much less that they are the company that wholsales the warranty to the dealers in the first place and that and that the dealers sell them to their customers at the retail rate.
They said that I would get the same benefits and same coverage as what the dealers sell.
This was all bogus because three abd a half years after buying the warranty I tried to use it to replace a part for the air injection pump and which totaled over $500.00 for replacement and labor
Mepco or contenintal would not pay up as they said it was not covered. So it cost me big time and I will continue to try to retrieve my money. As these fraudulent companies are misrepresenting the public. Just a down and dirty shame that anyone could stoop so low.

John...

AUTHOR: Kenny - (U.S.A.)

Taken from a named-component contract:

COVERED PART or COVERED PARTS: Refers to the parts or components listed under the PLAN COVERAGE.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED?

2. Any parts not listed under covered parts. If an item is not listed, it is not covered.

The bottom line is that my company preffers all claims get handled successfully. However, if a part is not covered, an insurance company will not cover the claim as stated in the agreement.

Why should anyone ever buy an extended warranty?

AUTHOR: Thomas - (U.S.A.)

If you really think the car or truck you are considering buying NEEDS the support of an extended warranty, for heaven's sake, go buy a more reliable vehicle.

Buying a vehicle you expect to break is just plain silly.

Consumer Reports offers extensive reliability data. Use it.

While you are backpedaling..

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

what does this exactly mean then?

"When you purchase a Continental Warranty product, you ensure your claims will be paid by proven insurance providers like Great American Insurance Company, Protective Life Insurance Company and General Fidelity Insurance Company, a subsidiary of
Bank of America Corporation."

It seems pretty clear that your company is putting it's neck out to guarantee the claims will be paid.

Sorry to hear...

AUTHOR: Kenny - (U.S.A.)

I am sorry to hear that you had problems with a claim on your vehicle. A few things that I wanted to ask/alert you of so that this problem does not occur again (or for those of you reading this for info).

1) Continental Warranty does not pay claims. We do not administrate your warranty and we do not write contracts. This is done by an insurance company.

2) Mepco is the finance company that gave you a 0% loan without running your credit.

3) Did you read over the contract/coverage when you originally received the policy? We try to do our best at telling you what is covered over the phone, but we obviously cannot tell you every single component that is covered/not covered. When you sign up, the state requires that we give you thirty days to rescind for a full money back guarantee. If there is something that you do not like, or if there is an item that is not covered that you wanted covered, you could always call and ask or cancel the policy.

I can't understand what it is that we did that made us "stoop so low" or why my company is "so dirty."
