On purchased the time-share I was told the Maintenance Fee would be $395 Dollars per user year.

I have access to the property every third year. When I received the Bill for this years fees (prior to using the unit), the fee had tripled to $971.99 Dollars.  Late fees of 25 dollars if not paid by 1/15/2012 if not paid by March 15 the assessed fee raise to 50%

I call the Island Links HOA and the receptionist told me that only collect the fees, which are set by Coral Resorts/Island Links.  I was given a number to call customer service, which routed me to a voice mail that said I would receive a return call in the order received and not less than 24 hours. It has been more than 14 days and I call several times daily. I have attempted to send fax messages and I receive communication errors every time.

Today I called the resort registration desk and spoke with registration desk, the clerk gaveme yet another number to the district manager Stan Snell or course I received his voicemail and have yet received a return call.

Coral Resorts makes good

AUTHOR: mrjlturner - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 07, 2012

Folks,

I had the same problems with Coral Resorts. However, I have good news. I worked w/ the SC Attorney General's office and the South Carolina Real Estate Commission to open a formal complaint. After a number of months of research and review, the SCREC contacted Coral Resorts and they agreed to offer us a full and complete refund of both the TimeShare purchase price and our Maintenance fees that we had paid. Based on this refund, and the dissolution of our contract, we are fully satisfied w/ the resolution that Coral Resorts has provided us.

Thanks,
mrjlturner

Can you help

AUTHOR: powercatfan - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, June 02, 2012

We purchased a time share through Coral Resorts back in April 2012.  We have vacationed several years in Hilton Head are were so excited about the ability to continue to vacation there every year with out the hassle of finding a place to stay.  I wish we knew we were going from the frying pan to the fire.  Over the last two days we have discovered most everything others have written.

Our first payment comes out in 16 days and I am going to do everything in my power to correct our mistake, silly me for thinking that Coral Resorts was an upstanding business with honest employees! Like most people these days, we are financially strapped and put the money we would of used for our vacation toward our down-payment thinking we would be able to reserve our condo 30 days out with no problem, this per our sales person Julie Stefan who assured us, even showed us the available condo for the month of July.  What a joke!!

I feel like such a sucker because we just didnt know.  We have family members who have time shares and have had absolutely no problems but we are finding out the hard way (and expensive way) that Coral Resorts should not be trusted.

I wanted to know what action you have taken or if you can give me any information.  I am looking for help and willing to help others who are in our same situation.  I have contacted others who have recently experienced these same issues and would like to put something together.  Thank you for your help!

Maintenance Fees Explained

AUTHOR: mrjlturner - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, March 01, 2012

To whom it may concern,

I am in the same boat w/ you and Coral Resorts.  I do, however, think that I have an explanation for you.  I believe that the maintenance was billed to you for all 3 years.  They didn't split it out into 3rd's, even though you have a tri-ennial timeshare.  I asked the same questions and this is the answer that I got.  You should not receive a bill for another two years.

If it helps any, the SC Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (Office of Investigation and Enforcement) is currently investigating Coral Resorts for their sales practices, as they have been inundated with calls and complaints.  I would encourage you to contact them and start your formal complaint with them as well.  They can be reached at (803)896-4470.  You can find the complaint form online as well.

I spoke w/ their office today and was ensured that I was not the only one that had problems, and that the office has obtained a lawyer to begin the investigation...

Thanks!
