So, I jump in my car and I drive the 30 miles to the location of the work site and when I'm finished filling out & signing these "important" papers, the real truth comes out. What happened was--Somebody had called in earlier that day and quit just before there shift was supposed to start. Surprised, at the immediacy of the situation (as well as the dishonesty) but still willing to work; even though I had open-toed shoes on, ever so Willingly, I faithfully went to a Walmart not so nearby, and bought a pair of shoes and a 4 pack of socks so I could clock in & start my new job & work the 10 hour shift of the ex-employees as Corestaff/Shutterfly had asked me to do.
Only after almost 4 hours on my feet at our first 20 minute break I went to go get my purse from the Corestaff office where I had to leave it as We weren't allowed to bring anything but ourselves on the floor (& didn't bring a lock because I didn't know I would be starting that day and also didn't have any more money to buy one after buying the Socks & shoes anyway!) Some night shift manager was rudely sitting at a desk talking to another employee ( I imagine to replace the next employee who wont be showing up the next day, due to unfavorable working conditions--ME!) and when he finally gave me his attention so I could ask for my purse which was sitting on a filing cabinet behind his head, he ignorantly said "You need to get a lock and use the lockers we provide you in the break room".
I said "I know" and went on back to work as I was going to be late if I had to explain my plight. I was extremely thirsty (working around ink & heavily fibrous photo paper--UGgh!) & needed a drink from one of the pop machines in the break room. Needless to say the next morning I get a call from the CORESTAFF/SHUTTERFLY manager saying: sorry, we wont be needing your services tomorrow and you are hereby terminated from this position. Needless to say I went down to the Walmart (30 miles away) and took back the socks & Shoes.
To top it all off--Now here it is almost March and I still haven't received my W-2 and I've been there two times to try and get it! On my 2nd visit they said they would print another one & send it.
This Company is a bunch of Liars, Slave drivers and just a bad company in general. They use people for their personal gain and work them to death in every way just to screw us over in the end! The employees (Managers) are not professional and are RUDE!
